1(1) - East St. Louis Tire Fires(5-0) - The lone Alpha undefeated, they start the hardest part of there schedule. 3 of there next 4 - Bangkok, at Singapore, at Bandar. If they make it through that stretch still undefeated, the #1 seed is pretty much locked up.
Next week vs Bangkok Seamen *GAME OF THE WEEK* - Last season, Bangkok knocked ESL out of the Tourney of champions and beat them in the Conference Championship game as well. ESL looks for revenge in a coin flip game
2(3) - Bangkok Seamen(4-1) - I still think Bangkok might be the best team in SE Asia Pro, and should finish in the top 3 unless they completely collapse. One has to wonder where Ricky Waffers and co have been this season however.
Next week at East St. Louis Tire Fires *GAME OF THE WEEK* - If any team can stand toe to toe with Bangkok and beat them at there own game it's ESL. The winner of this game will stand alone atop the league...for now
3(4) - Phuket All(4-1) - With one of the toughest opening schedules, Phuket has to be liking there chances. Only ESL has beat them, and they pulled off big wins vs Singapore and Bandar. Some playoff bubble teams before a week 11 showdown with the hated Seamen
Next week vs Queensland Flash - This is a big game for the flash if they want to prove they belong. Still, I think they just don't have the firepower needed to take Phuket down...yet.
4(2) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(4-1) - A heartbreaking loss vs Phuket might come back to haunt them when it comes playoff time. They welcomed the Maryland Marauders new management to the league, but allowing 20 points to them is not a good sign. Vs the top teams, there defense will need to show up if they want to win
Next week at Xi'an Dragons - The Dragons don't have much of a shot at winning this one
5(6) - Pattaya Partisans(4-1) - A loss to the Flash still has me doubting this team. Not to take anything away from Queensland, but if you can beat Bangkok, you should at least make the game vs the Flash closer than 38-17. I'm eagerly awaiting there showdown with Phuket to see just where they are
Next week at Niagara Jeanhorns - Pattaya should win this one, but I could see an upset in the making if they look past the Jeanhorns
6(7) - Pennsylvania Silver Knights(3-2) - Losses to Bangkok and ESL are the only blemishes on there record. A big win vs a solid Singapore squad is just what this team needed. Bandar in two weeks will show if they've truly improved since ESL.
Next week vs Holbrook Roadrunners - Tune up game for PSK before a much needed win, or at least strong showing, vs Bandar
7(5) - Singapore Marauders(3-2) - A loss at the hands of the PSK shows just how tough this league is this season. They need to beat a top 8 team somewhere along the line to show they have a shot at competing. They'll get there chance vs ESL and Bangkok in back to back weeks.
Next week at Spokane Vandalizers - Tune up game before ESL and Bangkok
8(9) - Queensland Flash(3-2) - A well run team, that just lacks levels to be elite for now. Wins over Macau and Pattaya are impressive, but that loss to the Gothic is troublesome. Hopefully for the flash they don't drop anymore like that or they could miss the playoffs
9 - Chaiyaphum Gothic(2-3) - Only remaining team with a win vs the top 8
Next week at Macau Gamblers - Gamblers pull the upset
10 - Macau Gamblers(2-3) - Top pass D in the league
Next week vs Chaiyaphum Gothic - Gamblers
11 - Niagara Jeanhorns(2-3) - # of inactives is disheartening
Next week vs Pattaya Partisans - Partisans
12 - Xi'an Dragons(2-3) - Lack of levels/gameplanning to compete with the top teams
Next week vs Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates - Bandar
13 - Holbrook Roadrunners(1-4) - This team should finish high enough to avoid regelation
Next week at Pennsylvania Silver Knights - PSK
14 - Maryland Marauders(1-4) - Huge week for the new coaching staff
Next week vs Taiwan Royals - Marauders
15 - Spokane Vandalizers(0-5) - 10 points all season I only see a possible victory vs Taiwan
Next week vs Singapore Marauders - Singapore
16 - Taiwan Royals(0-5) - Royals look to score there first points of the season
Next week at Maryland Marauders - Marauders
