Forum > Position Talk > K/P Club > Stamina IS important to kicking, isn't it?
Link

Since kickers have low stamina usually, around 10-15, each stamina lost in a game does have a pretty big effect on your next kick and so forth. This probably has a big effect in high-scoring games.

In some games, you go 2/2 FG and 3/3 XP, but some games go 3/5 FG and 3/4 XP's. I think towards the last kicks, stamina has a big effect. I think XP's should be near 100%.

Anyways, I think a little more committment to stamina will prove valuable. And I'll probably put more focus on it as I go

I think it's important in blowout games (10+ XP's)

For the most part, it shouldn't be a huge factor though. Worth getting to 15-20.

I look at it this way. Either my team blows away the other team, and due to low stamina, I don't nail every single kick, in which case we win anyway. Or we don't blow out the other team and because I didn't waste points on stamina my kicking skills are better, I kick better on those few important field goals, in which case we win anyway.

I don't agree with this at all. I've missed XP's on the first play of the game, at the beginning and end of games. I've never seen anything consistent to say that low stamina is why kickers miss. I've seen kickers with stamina in the 20's struggle along w/ everyone else. So either kickers need MUCH higher stamina than first thought (30's?), we haven't figured out the magic formula or the code still needs tweaking.

For the record, my kicker has 15 stamina and consistently finishes games with 95+ energy so I don't think stamina is a big issue.

my kicker is finishing games with 90+ energy, and my punter with like 65 energy. I haven't touched stamina on either, so I'd just assume its more important for punters based on this. I don't think its a big deal for either really, as most people say (and I agree) 15-20 is fine.

I am curious to find out if speed is more important than jumping for a punter?

Speed, I'd be willing to bet, based on experience, has a 0.0000000000000001 effect on punting

Speed is a minor attribute for a punter,

My brother's Kicker also plays on the KRS, meaning that's around 20 plays a game+ the fact it's special teams.
Yet he's only missed 3/10.

Having 1 or 2 points extra will probably make a big difference.

Speed helps with Punters ability to tackle, which they almost never get to do. I don't think Agility helps the punter either. I trained both before I moved on to Jumping. Jumping is the way to go; I saw no improvement until I put more training into that skill.
