1. East Brewton Warbirds: Not a pretty win, but the Warbirds got it done when they needed too. But the Warbirds get no rest this next game, the Firebirds will be wanting some blood after another close loss. Either way, the Warbirds are defiantly the team to beat in the East.
Previous Rank: 1

2. Jersey Shore Hammerheads: Their pounding of the Thrashers was expected. Their first real test comes against the Key West Corsairs. A win here tells us this team is back and ready to go all the way this season.
Previous Rank: 2

3. Indianapolis Inferno: Behind the running game of Slappy and Francis, the Inferno ran all over the Boone Drinkabeers. This team looks to continue its winning ways as they host the improving Detroit Proletariat.
Previous Rank: 4

4. Kansas Flashpoint: Behind a 4 interception day by the Flashpoints secondary, they get a convincing win over a good team. So many have thought Xeef has lost something, but he has found it and the Flashpoint are off and gearing up for the rest of the season. The Flashpoint shouldn't take the Villians lightly, but should win to go 3-1.
Previous Rank: 5

5. Key West Corsairs: Losing a close game to the Warbirds shouldn't worry the Corsairs, but getting the turnovers and not capitalizing in the future will cost them more. No time to lick their wounds, they are back in hot water against the Hammerheads in their next game. A win here could put them in the drivers seat to securing a home playoff spot, but losing two in a row could really hurt their moral and fan base.
Previous Rank: 3

6. Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish: The Catfish just out powered the Villains. With almost 500 yards against a good team, they should be pretty proud of this and use it as a stepping block. Their passing game is really starting to flourish, and that could spell trouble for the teas they play late in the season.
Previous Rank:7

7. East Saint Louis Firebirds: With two early loses, this team is slowly teetering into mediocrity. They played a solid game, but it is the wins that define a good team. With the Warbirds and Hammerheads their next games, the Firdbirds need to really dig down deep and pull out a win against one of these powerhouse if they want a home playoff game chance.
Previous Rank: 6

8. Massachusetts Marauders: Crushing the poor Macaws, the Marauders now face the Thrashers. With morale increasing and fan base growing, they should take a quick look forward and start game planning if they plan to make the playoffs with the schedule they face after their next game.
Previous Rank: 9

9. Youngstown Villains: Coming off of a crushing loss, they now hit the gauntlet playing arguably the best three teams in the East. One bright spot is the play of Jason Vodhanel, having an excellent game against Flashpoint, but that defense is going to have to step up if they plan to continue to stay competitive.
Previous Rank: 8

10. Detroit Proletariat: Behind great QB play, the Proletariats down the Murlocs. They did have some problems, but with a solid core of players, this team can cause a stir and I can see them upsetting one or two of the elites. Their next game against the Inferno could be one of these upsets if they put the time in on their game planning.
Previous Rank: 10

11. Bay City Bombers: It is not looking good for the Bombers. In a game that should have been a blow out, they some how let the Storm score 21 points. Looking at this team, they have the talent to really make some noise in the East. But potential is just that, and until they step up and beat a good team, their playoff shot will continue to spiral down the drain. Another easy game against the Macaws, or is it?
Previous Rank: 11

12. Redridge Murlocs: The Murlocs are another team on the bubble. They have the players to really win some games, but they haven't showed us they can win the hard ones. With the Catfish up next, the Murlocs could be looking at a 0-7/0-8 record if they don't find a way to beat them.
Previous Rank: 12

13 Hilo Storm: Showing some offense in the Bombers game allows them to move up the ranks. With a winnable game next against the Drinkabeers, they can stay at the top of the bottom.
Previous Rank: 16

14. Boone Drinkabeers: The Drinkabeers are heading down a path where they could get 3 wins. If their owner can get some more talent to supplement what they have, they could go into the Corsairs game on a 3-0 streak.
Previous Rank: 13

15. Malibu Macaws: The Macaws have a game against the Bombers next.
Previous Rank: 14

16. Alabama Thrashers: First time at this spot, the Thrashers will have to show me something to move them back up.
Previous Rank: 15

Yeah. I'm not a big fan of doing that either. But, it's kind of like when Cal got knocked out of the BCS and Texas got in because Texas beat the shit out of whoever they played and Cal played nice.

Still, I don't beat up on the little guys too bad in general.

Anyway, great rankings again, Mailstrom.

Mailstrom,
1) thanks for taking the time no not only rank them but do a writeup for them as well. that is great.
2) I don't agree

mostly I do. I just wish the Corsairs didn't fall two spots for losing to the number 1 team by 10 points. well mostly having a team we beat move up above us because of it.
(not that flashpoint isn't a great team)

ah, dont worry irunk, you woke us up. shook our world a little bit and forced us into action. We are much better than we were when you beat us, but I tend to agree, we did get our ass handed to us by a team below us. I will cede that position.

well, we lost today to the #2 ranked team. 4 fumbles lost. gah! oh well. so i reckon we will slip a bit further.

I am rooting for you guys to take out the hammerheads and warbirds

that's why I am not "up in arms" over being behind you guys - i think you'll take at least one of them.

It is all just guess work early, by mid-season it will be easier to rank everyone. Because of your close loss today coupled with the close win by the Flashpoint, you might just move ahead of them. But until we see more of the top teams play each other, your current record will also play a role. Look at the Firebirds, I think their a top team, but because of their schedule, like yours, they have played the top teams. They may end the season 13-3, but right now I can't see ranking them higher than 8th spot until they win a few.

I agree with everything that's been posted. But I think a shakeup is coming to these rankings, and I think our team is the best team that's been beaten.

Ya, that's why I am glad you did them. it is hard to tell early on what is going to happen.

9. Youngstown Villains: Coming off of a crushing loss, they now hit the gauntlet playing arguably the best three teams in the East. One bright spot is the play of Jon Elweigh, having an excellent game against Catfish, but that defense is going to have to step up if they plan to continue to stay competitive.
Previous Rank: 8

Who is Jon Elweigh? He isnt even our QB.

Lol at you not knowing who Jon Elweigh is. He was saying that one of the reasons it was ok for you guys to lose was that our QB was and is so good.

I knew who he was but but I thought we was implying that our bright spot was the other teams QB playing well agenst us.

That's what I thought too. Made sense to me still. That your team played well but our QB was just too much.
