Okay, my level 28 pass rushing DE just bought a Superior Vision SA. Now, I dont plan on using it over my +4 Agility equipment just yet, but what if I Intense trained and built the Superior Vision SA up to +4 or +5 before putting it on. Anyone think this could be a beneficial SA since it is multiplier of the players vision?

If I cap out Vision, I am thinking this could be a pretty cool advanced equipment upgrade.

Thoughts?

As far as I know Bort hasn't put it in place where you can upgrade the SA on advanced equipment, just put attributes on there. I know he was talking about potentially letting people upgrade the SAs though.

Says on intense training that you can increase advanced equipment with 10 bonus tokens plus some cash every 8 levels. I know it will be awhile before I can make use of this equipment, but it makes for a unique combination considering most likely very few will be able to afford level 40 equipment since most stadiums are close to being completely built, essentially putting a cap on team income.

If no one can afford advanced equipment at level 40 and higher, then Advanced Equipment becomes a good long term option.

Yeah, but I'm saying it means you can add a stat, you can't upgrade the SA.

I see what your saying...that blows. damn, What good does a +1 SA do for anyone? Would be cool to increase SA's.

I know Bort was open to ideas on how to handle advanced equipment, wish we could add them as extra equipment.

He has been talking about giving the option of getting like .5 of the SA per 10 tokens and such. We'll have to wait and see what he does.

Even that doesnt do much good if you can only upgrade it every 8 levels, it never catches up to basic equipment, assuming we can afford basic equipment at higher levels.

A player can get 10 bonus tokens every 25 days, but if you have to wait 8 levels, that becomes a huge problem.

Yeah, it's kind of counter-intuitive too because the higher level you are, the better chance you have of getting good equipment. But you also have a better chance of that good equipment never catching your current gear.

well, I just read that you can upgrade the advanced equipment repeatedly until it catches up to your basic equipment, so a level 32 DE can upgrade the advanced equipment +4 times.

I guess the good news for high level 32+ is that if you buy a piece of advanced that is already +3, you can still upgrade it +4 times for a total of +7, which is better than your basic equipment.

Except by the time you get it to +7 you will probably be high enough in level to get a normal +7.

the value would be if you got a good piece that had +2 superior vision, then caught it up to a normal piece. So instead of gloves that are +5 agility, you have gloves that are +4 agility and +2 SV. At that point its worth it.

level 40 is what 3.2 million for upgrades? and I dont even want to think about level 48 upgrades. Seriously, when does basic upgrades no longer become cost efficient compared to advanced upgrade equipment?

A level 33 player can fully upgrade an advanced equipment in three seasons. How many players will have teams that can afford level 40 upgrades when their team income is nearing its max capacity? How about level 48? Perhaps the core players on the team only?

I've made a couple updates to advanced equipment to help make it a little more worthwhile. Updates are in the training FAQ, but the main change is:

- Upgrades cost 8 bonus tokens + cash instead of 10 BT's.
- Upgrades give you a +1 to any SA or % chance skill on the item, along with the +1 to an attribute.
- Selling back an upgraded advanced item gives all the Bonus Tokens used on it back.

I'm still trying to figure out some way to have the old equipment be able to be used to upgrade the new equipment or something so older players have the ability to transition to some of the new EQ easier, but everything come up with so far ends up having some sort of loophole that makes it too easy to have ridiculous gear or get too much cash or something. Will keep thinking on that part.


So, now I can update my Super Vision SA twice a season and still add agility or speed!

To me advanced equipment is the better long term option than basic equipment.
