I have a level 20 possession WR with a little power (22 Strength). I've always played him at Elusive running style, per the request of team management. I'm considering asking to set him to Power running style for a couple games and see how that goes. He doesn't have many points in Speedster SA's, just 1 in First Step and 1 in Quick Cut. This isn't a huge problem that needs fixing, as he's always played well on Elusive, just an idea I'm thinking about.

-The main thing I'm wondering -- Does Power running = greater chance of fumbling?

-Should I expect much difference in performance? If so, what?

I don't think that you'll see any better or worse performance from your WR playing on power. His strength is too low for power running to be effective.

I think you are better off with combo. Elusive you get lots of cuts sometimes with no forward movement and Power is only good with high strength. You may or may not have enough depending upon the secondaries builds.

I would not worry so much about YAC. The WR job is to get open, make a catch, and not fumble the ball. After that it is just bonus.

I would say power . elusive as it is now is not working . Therefore power , since you'll sometimes do elusive on combo . And think about it , you only have 22 strength (raise to +30 imo) but still , how much do you think most CBs have ?

Most CBs focus on speed/agility/jumping and such , not strength really .

No actual evidence of this, but my teams FB got way more fumbles than my elusive HB last season with a higher carrying/cover up rating.

I think so.

Actually elusive works pretty well for WRs if you have enough agility.

That looks pretty standard. The only other option would be to purposefully go out of your way to run into the defender which I don't think would happen even if you set it on power.

Not sure if I buy the whole "elusive it totally broken right now" thing, my guy does decent on it so far...

Edit: And before you even ask, no the guys I burnt were not some low level scrubs, one was actually 5 levels ahead of me.

Elusive has actually been fixed this season.

Power doesn't rely on strength, power basically has you turn and run straight once you get the ball.

A piece of advanced equipment that came up for my WR is +1 to the Lower the Shoulder SA. I was thinking about buying it and pumping up the strength on my guy, since most CBs have very little strength. Has anyone tried anything like this?

I seem to break a tackle on a corner for a big gain every game or two, I run on power. Works well enough for me so make your own decisions I guess.
