1. East Brewton Warbirds: This team is the favorite to win again this year. With the best secondary in the East, the competition will try to run and fail there too. With two easy games out of the way, they get their first true test of the year against the vastly improved Key West Corsairs.
2. Jersey Shore Hammerheads: A powerhouse the first few seasons, Hammerheads had an off season 4. They look like their back at the top, and ready to make some noise this season. Running a very good 2 QB system, they are lighting up the scoreboard. Their next game shouldn't be a problem against the rebuilding Alabama Thrashers.
3. Key West Corsairs: This team is a viable contender this year. Winning against two tough teams already, they look poised enough to give the Warbirds some competition in the regular season. This next game will show if they are a top four team, or just another discarded road kill of the Warbirds.
4. Indianapolis Inferno: The Inferno again looks to be a tough team. A great defense lead by SubZor, might be the best they have had since their inception. Two gritty victories into the season, they should have no problem with the Boone Drinkabeers.
5. Kansas Flashpoint: This team was geared to win it all last year, but fell short in the playoffs. With the likes of Ryan Terry and Hillbilly McGee on their O-Line, they have all the pieces in place to make a strong run this year. A small hiccup against the improved Key West Corsairs shouldn't discourage them. But their road to success will be tested once again as the head to meet the East Saint Louis Firebirds.
6. East Saint Louis Firebirds: With Ron Hinderliter leading this team, they are a forced to be reckoned with. Maybe the best passing team in the East, I expect their Pro Bowl QB to lead the east this year in TDs. Loseing to the Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish early in the season, this team needs to hunker down and get back to their magic they had last year. Their next game at home against the Kansas Flashpoint will defiantly be a game to watch. Game of the Week.
7. Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish: Arriving last season, this team looked loaded and ready to rumble at the season start. Either bad game planning or just bad luck, they didn't play to their full potential. With a victory over the East Saint Louis Firebirds already this season, it looks like they might have found the right ingredient they have been lacking. A tough game at home against the surging Youngstown Villains will clearly tell us if they are ready to compete against the East's best.
8. Youngstown Villains: This team started making its surge late last season. With a win against the Detroit Proletariat under their belt already, it doesn't look like their ready to stop. A home game against the Middle Tennessee Fightin' Catfish will let the East know they are for real.
9. Massachusetts Marauders: Another team with allot of potential, they played the Inferno hard their first game, but came up short. Paula Hemingway, a budding star already has 4 TD this season, and it doesn't look like he will stop there. They will get some steam and confidence next game as they host the Malibu Macaws.
10. Detroit Proletariat: Stunned by the Youngstown Villains in their first game, this team is better than they played. Rick Montana looks to have righted the ship against the Boone Drinkabeers, with a perfect 14/14 and 5 TD. They are favored in their next match against the Redridge Murlocs.
11. Bay City Bombers: A new team to the East this year, they have already broken their streak of 26 losses with a win against the Boone Drinkabeers. They have a loaded roster with allot of talent. I expect them to via for a playoff spot later in the season. Their next home game against the Hilo Storm should allow them the freedom to test some new tactics.
12. Redridge Murlocs: This team has improved from last year, but will it be enough. Playing two tough team already, they have the talent to compete this year with a few more free agent acquisitions. Their next game against the Detroit Proletariat could really shake up the rankings if they can pull a win off.
13. Boone Drinkabeers: This team was showing some spark at the start of last season, but with an owner change they have allot of rebuilding to do. They still have some talented players on their roster. They play the Inferno in Hell's Inferno Stadium this week.
14. Malibu Macaws: Another rebuilding team, they face a tough Massachusetts Marauders this week.
15. Alabama Thrashers: There is no mercy in site for this young team. Already played the Flashpoint and Warbirds, they now face the Hammerheads. Probably the tougest schedule so far.
16. Hilo Storm: This team is training and playing for next season. A home game against the Bay City Bombers will give them more experience, but not likely a win.
17. Birmingham Beavers
The Beavers are my early favorites. They have always been a stronge team. Many teams over look this team a bit because of teams like the Isotopes and the Rahls. The Beavers have gotten my respect by going 13-3 in the last Regular Season. There only loses The champs, the disbanding Rahls and the Eastern Jersey team. Beavers should be a top 3 team for the Season.
18. Amarillo Isotopes
Isotopes have a new owner in Florida_boi but it looks like they are stronger then ever. They have always been a competitive team by now it could be there chance to win the big one and promote. Florida_boi and company have kept many of the strong players as well as brought in even stronger players to help lead the charge. They goose egged the Firebirds this Preseason who are a very good team in the East. Only time will tell how strong this team really is.
19. Fort Richardson Redskins
Team went 13-3 last Season and had an early exit from the Isotopes. As long as they stay up higher in the ststanding they won't have that problem again. Not many changes for the team and being strong last season and losing some good teams this team shot up there and are now amoung the top 3. Expect this team to go far anything less then a top 4 spot may be disappointing.
20. Las Vegas Aces
Losing in the first round to Birmingham is nothing bad considering they are a very good team. However, this may be the year where this team steps up and gets past the first round in which they have lost in the last two years. Aces have looked to make little if any changes to there lineup. The hope to stay in the top 4 for the season. Where will they be next week though since they have to play the Isotopes?
21. Raleigh Fighting Tigers
I will tell you right now the Tigers will be in the top 4 next week with a win against Ditka's Army. They remind me of the team that has not hit there spurt yet. They are always there but teams seem to forget because they don't always win or don't always lose. Tigers will always be strong but can they take that extra step and really make themselves a contender?
22. Miami Breakers
Miami can show us early how good this team is as they go up against the Redskins. In order for this team to really be a good team Joe [QB] is going to have to get some extra protection from his guys up front and throw some more TDs. Team should make the Playoffs and anything less then that would be disappointing to a team that has always worked hard.
23. Java Monkeys
Monkey's sort of get a bye week with the Tomahawks. They could start off 3-0 (and are expected to) until they face the Tigers, Amarillo, and Aces all in a row. the team should enjoy the next 3 games because after that they could be looking just to try to get back to playing over .500.
24. Ditka's Army
They didn't make the Playoffs last Season but this season it may be different. depending on how long the Rahls stay competitive this team could be fighting for a playoff spot all Season. Should be interesting to follow this team around over the weeks. Don't let them sneak up on you because this team could just come out and surprise many of us.
25. Atomic Wedgies
Don't be surprised if this team starts 1-4 but also don't be surprised if they get into the top 4 Playoff spots. Team will be a menace to deal with and the name just makes it worse if you lose to them. Right now I am a little afraid because I ranked them so low.
26. San Antonio Rahls
Not sure how long they will be around for. They are a top 5 team if they stay like this all Season but if they get gutted they may be a bottom 4 team. That is why I ranked them around here. i expect them to do well in the beginning and slowly start to fall off and land about here. Witha great team like this going down it looks like another team can step up and take there place.
27. San Antonio Gunslingers
They look to be still looking for players but the team looks pretty good. If they get the rest of there peices sometime soon you may want to look out for them.A playoffs contender if they are ready to be but for right now they will stay at 11. Flathead should be a blowout today and they may move up just for that next week.
28. Austin Extreme
The Extreme may not look so extreme this year with all there low level 20 players. They will grow though and ultimately win 4-5 games. Next Season if they stick with it they will be a team to be reckoned with. Lower levels will catch up to the higher levels at some point.
29. Death Valley Vikings
New Owner? Team looks weak with low level plays and CPU. The team can turn things around though during the Season. They are jsut lucky there are 3 weak teams below them. Would not expect to hear any noise coming from this club.
30. Flathead Just Go Krazy
Team looks to have a decent core of players and only time wil tell where this team ends up. Still recruiting but should atleast get a win this season.
31. Arrowhead Tomahawks
I would honestly say this team looks like Flathead when they started level 3s last Season. I know the team will do better because there is an even worse team out there.
32. St. Louis Lowriders
Too bad they can't get relegated any farther? They beat Flathead by 94 last year... maybe it's time for a little payback.
