New DC...not new to Football I coach.

We run a 3 man front here is my question.

When I run Dime against Ace 3 WR, I get the CB4 on WR1 not giving me the TE covered by a DB which is why I went Dime in the first place.

Is this the same when I play Gun 3 WR? I've seen some Nickel packages from the 4 front with CB4 in the middle taking the TE on release...which is what I want.

I have not been able to get that in. That CB4 is taking the LB's spot and depending on coverage is when you will get him maned or zoned on the TE. But I think you have to run 4-3 to get that to happen. In my 3-4 scheme I lose my strong OLB there in dime, which is what I dont want.

May not be what you want, but Cover 1 man under sticks the SS all over that TE. Of course, now you've only got the FS deep.
