1(1) - Bangkok Seamen(1-0) - Nice win over a solid Queensland team. The number of inactives on there roster makes me question what is happening, and if they can beat some of the teams just below them without the players.
Next week at PSK - Bangkok flexes there muscle and welcomes PSK to the Pro's in what should be a good game...for 3 quarters
2(3) - East St. Louis Tire Fires(1-0) - Knocked off the #2 team Phuket All in the Alpha Game of the Week, holding them to -22 yards rushing. They have a chance at going into a week 6 match up vs Bangkok 5-0 if they can get past the Silver Knights
Next week at Canisteo FaceEaters - ESL talent and depth overwhelms Canisteo
3(5) - Singapore Marauders(1-0) - Completely shutdown a solid Jeanhorns team, holding them to 125 yards while putting up over 500. There two headed rushing attack looks very dangerous. They enter a playoff type game this week vs Phuket All that could define there season.
Next week at Phuket All *GAME OF THE WEEK* -Singapore's rushing attack proves too strong in a coin flip matchup between two good teams
4(4) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(1-0) - The good: 56 points against the Gothic. The bad: giving up 28. The Pirates continue there special teams magic, but having two of there top performers inactive is troublesome. Week 4 at Phuket All will be one to watch.
Next week at Macau Gamblers - Bandar's new found balance and special teams will overcome the Gamblers early
5(2) - Phuket All(0-1) - The schedule makers did Phuket no favors. Starting at ESL is tough, and following that with Singapore is just brutal. With Bandar week 4, Phuket needs to make a rebound like last season or risks a 1-3 possible start.
Next week vs Singapore Marauders *GAME OF THE WEEK* - After allowing 160 yards on the ground vs ESL, they play another top running team. Singapore shuts down the Phuket ground game and wears down the D in a similar fashion as ESL.
6(6) - Pattaya Partisans(1-0) - These next two games vs Queensland and Bangkok are very important for the Partisans. If they get out 1-1, they could very well be 7-2 before meeting PSK in week 9 in what starts a brutal ending schedule that has 5 possible loses.
Next week vs Queensland Flash - Partisans edge out the Flash in a close one
7(7) - Pennsylvania Silver Knights(1-0) - The Knights didn't do anything specatcular vs the Dragons, but came away with the victory. How they fare vs Bangkok this week will show us just how good this team truly is.
Next week vs Bangkok Seamen - The Seamen prove to be too much for the newcomers and pull away late.
8(10) Macau Gamblers (1-0) - The Gamblers handled business and got a much needed win vs the Roadrunners. A number of inactives and a suspect rush D will need to be addressed if they want to remain in the top 8 however
Next week vs Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates - Bandar will prove to be just too much for the Gamblers to handle
9(8) - Queensland Flash(0-1) - Starting the season off against Bangkok is hard for anyone, let alone a team moving up. The amount of yards given up must be troublesome, and they don't get any help from the schedule makers with Pattaya up next.
Next week vs Pattaya Partisans - The Partisans take this one in a close matchup as the Flash D just can't keep the win.
10(9) - Niagara Jeanhorns(0-1) - I almost moved them down as they were beaten badly by Singapore, but think they will rebound quicker than the Dragons or Gothic. They will need to get there offense going this week though and beat the teams below them as well as either the Flash or Gamblers to move up.
Next week vs Holbrook Roadrunners - Niagara's offense springs to life and they get the win in what will be a solid game.
11(12) - Chaiyaphum Gothic(0-1) - Putting up 28 vs Bandar is impressive, and they look to build on that. Something must be done about the defense however.
Next week vs Taiwan Royals - Gothic win in a blowout
12(11) - Xi'an Dragons(0-1) - The Dragons played PSK tough, but couldn't get anything going in the second half. This is definitely a game they can build on for the future.
Next week vs Spokane Vandalizers - Dragons get there first win of the season before facing ESL, Singapore and Bandar 3 out of the 4 games after that.
13(13) - Holbrook Roadrunners(0-1) - They played Macau tough, but couldn't get the win. There passing games on both sides of the ball must improve if they want to make any noise this season.
Next week vs Niagara Jeanhorns - Niagara is looking to rebound and uses the Roadrunners to do so.
14(14) - Canisteo FaceEaters(1-0) - Blowing out the Vandalizers isn't enough for them to move up. ESL and Singapore back to back will bring the FaceEaters back down to earth before a game vs Holbrook which should be circled on there schedule.
Next week vs East St. Louis Tire Fires - ESL is not Spokane. If they can put points on the board, consider it a victory.
15(15) - Spokane Vandalizers(0-1) - Getting beaten badly by the Vandalizers is telling for a young team that lacks the levels to compete.
Next week vs Xi'an Dragons - I don't see them having a shot at winning after the FaceEaters blew them out.
16(16) - Taiwan Royals(0-1) - As is, this team won't score a point. I wish them the best, but they won't be able to rebuild properly until they regulated.
Next week vs Chaiyaphum Gothic - Gothic win
