Keep putting points in agility until it's soft capped. Train jumping and confidence.

Is agility going to help with the drops? I'm not trying to be a possession guy, but a 50% drop rate seems a little ridiculous unless I'm catching bombs.

Funny typo is funny.

Honestly, you're not going to have a super effective speed receiver until lvl 22-25 or so.

You'll want to soft cap agility and catching. Which one you cap first is up to you.

You'll want vision and jumping to 35-40 or so. That's what's working for my speedy WR anyway.

Strength will help you wrestle down passes (it seriously does reduce PDs against you.) Carrying will reduce fumbles and break tackles. Blocking is important to your team.
And if you ask me, next to QBs and Kickers, confidence is more important to WRs than any other position.

So basically, cap catching and agility and then balance him out. Keep putting all your equips into speed. Don't think you'll need 80 speed to do what you want. All you have to be is fast enough to keep away from the secondary. Most CBs will be putting enough into agility, vision, tackling, strength and jumping to keep their speed lower than yours. What you need now is the ability to create separation and catch the ball.

I usually don't have a go at people, but this isn't very good advice.

Speed WRs can be effective before level 22, from my own experience my level 12 WR with 80 speed is playing awesome.

He will need to soft cap agility, but not catching until you've got your base speed to the 60s.

WRs DO NOT need much vision. Loads of players, myself included have great WRs with low vision. And I know of many players who have soft capped vision and found that it hasn't helped.

You do not need strength, it doesn't help with PDs, that's carrying. Bort has confirmed this. You do need decent jumping though.

So basically ignore Kwill-bot if you want to build a good speed WR.
Soft cap agility, get speed to 60, train jumping and confidence, and eventually soft cap catching.

I may not know how to build the perfect WR, but if you look at last seasons production of my WR compared to Kwill-bot's, it pretty clear who's is better.

I'd listen to Visc. You can train strength fairly easily since the levels are so low for WR when the time comes for it.

I agree that you should wait on catching and build up other attributes as Visc points out, but I think since you are ~10 skill points away from the catching softcap you may as well hit it and generate the natural level up on it after 48.

I put 4 points into agility and 6 points into SAs to fix my dropping problem (which worked, I caught 5 of 6 passes last game), so I'm going to use the next 3 levels to softcap agility. My next question is what's preventing me from taking a catch like this
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=182245&pbp_id=1623968
or this
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=182245&pbp_id=1624932
to the house when I make the catch behind the defense? Strength/carrying to break tackles? Agility to turn on the burners? Should I try evasive carrying to avoid DBs?

This is my build with equipment after spending my level 14 SP and boosting 1 level:

Strength: 11 Blocking: 10
Speed: 64.62 Tackling: 10
Agility: 32.62 Throwing: 9
Jumping: 20.38 Catching: 39.62
Stamina: 25.99 Carrying: 17
Vision: 23.59 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 20.37 Punting: 8
