Does anyone know what a Cover 1 Zone play looks like?

Wouldn't get caught dead in it. You have 1 deep and everyone else is playing zone. If you set your zones to deep it might work in the red zone, but it would be fundamentally unsound.

it's best utilized for running downs and short passing downs as long as your CBs are good in man coverage
to be really a really effective formation your FS has to be a beast of a ball hawk with great speed/agility/vision (ie Sean Taylor RIP) because he has a huge responsibility to not give up the long pass

yeah, he is responsible for any coverage breakdowns. When QB's look off safeties they are most likely looking off the free in cover 1.

Exactly, if you scout a team and see they play primarily a Cover 1 then drop back and throw the deep ball all day. They wont have a chance.

That is exactly the strategy I've been employing, but look at the linked play below. The SS tries to drop back into coverage negating most of his ability to help against the run. Any ideas how to get the SS to try to defend the run?

That looks like he's dropping back into a zone. Is it Cover 1 with Zone underneath? I would go with man underneath instead.

It had been on basic settings. I don't know what that does. I'll try man-to-man.

If you use basic settings for underneath coverage and you have any zone % at all in the basic settings, chances are that was probably a zone. Switching that to man to man should solve the issue.

Cover 1 is man. Every receiver will be covered, and the FS will be over the top. This is the most common (and best) man coverage. Cover 0 is man to man where even the FS has a man. This is used in blitz situations. Use this sparingly, unless you are that much better in the secondary than they are at receiver.
