i currently have plans of capping my TE's speed at the 2nd cap. 60 speed. is this fast enough for a TE? or do i need to dump my equipment into speed and bump it up to mid 70's? how fast do you have to be to get opened from a LB?

At your level 60 speed is enough.

Pretty much anyone whos main function is as a receiver should put their equipment in speed. You can't have too much, as long as you aren't ignoring other areas.

Actually, the slower you are, the more LBs will open you up.

I got 77 speed and it works pretty well for me. You also really need agility to make the speed count. Mine is at 58 I think.

Has anyone tried a high agility, route run, jumping and catching TE? I just made one yesterday and would like a quick possession guy (not necessarily high speed) that catches everything around him. Anyone had success with a similar build?

It's kind of pointless for a TE to be just a possession guy in this game because a TE only will get like 3-6 catches a game anyway. Speed is really the key to this game.

Thanks, and I get what your saying, but I'm thinking that maybe if I have a great route runner I will be open more than 3-6 times/game. Obviously I will still have some speed to help with separation, but with high agility and some SA's I could be open all day for a 5-10 yard completion. We'll see how things go in a few seasons as I am Slow Building towards the softcaps. What do you guys recommend for strength in a receiving TE?

You may be open, but it's been my experience that it's still hard for a QB to see that you're open in the crowded middle of the field. You'd probably be okay with a high vision QB (like 70+) but there aren't many of those around.

Not my guy, I regularly get 8-10 catches a game (had 14 in my last game), and get thrown to at least 12 times a game.

What's the highest proven TE speed? I'd imagine a 6'5 guy with 90+ speed and high strength would be impossible to bring down on deep routes.

I have the highest speed I know of, but I am sure someone made a freak that has around 90.

And your very lucky. On the team I was on last year, I had around 7-9 catches a game and did amazing. But now this season my new team is having trouble getting me the ball and I get 2 catches a game.

It's all about the Offensive Coordinator. Our team's doesn't have that great of a build yet in his last 3 games he has 28 catches for 240+ yards.

Well someone needs to help out our Off. Cord. because they can not figure out how to get me the ball. Today was the most they have ever thrown my way, and it was like 9 times, with 5 of those being incomplete (1 of those a drop). And this was a scrimmage game where they set everything on my focus. Sad really.
