Speed or jumping, my DT has the same problem essentially, 28 hurries and only 5 sacks last season.

Speed and jumping like he said, plus you need good CBs on your team, alot of sacks are coverage sacks.

I agree with this after watching the replays. Just about every time you had a hurry you were RIGHT there but one of the slot receivers was pretty open and he flung it off at the last second. Perhaps the 3rd and 4th CBs on your team should switch their tactics to close instead of medium.
More speed could never hurt though.

Part of the problem is that DTs have no SA's that give a burst toward sacking the QB. I mean technically "The Glare", "Swat Ball", and "Big Sack" do nothing to actually help you get to the QB. Shed Block and Strong Base help get blockers out of the way, but don't give any help beyond that.
I keep harping on this, but I think part of the reason for the success of speed DE's is that their SA tree works together very well. Conversely, the DT pass rush tree seems a bit disjointed.
That and DE's seem to have a bigger sack radius. By that I mean if they get near the QB the often register a sack. I know I have had my DT seemingly running on top of the QB but he is able to continue backpedalling and get rid of the ball.

I don't know if I buy jumping and tackling 100%. I know that my a couple of my DTs have more jumping/tackling than some of my teammates successful DE builds...which I have seen register sacks well away from the QB.
At least one of these DTs also regularly registers diving tackles as well.

Unfortunately, it really does require a team effort. CBs need to cover long enough to get to the QB, and DEs need to apply outside pressure and force the QB to step up into the DT.
