My first ever attempt at a Power Rankings, here they are. I based this mostly off last seasons playoffs, so much will change after the first few games
The Champs
1)Bangkok Seamen - Any Power Rankings need to start with the Seamen. Alpha's reigning champs look to come back strong after a championship game loss to NACJAC. The gap between them and the rest of the conference might shrink this season however.
Contenders
2)Phuket All - After losing a surprising week 1 showdown vs Bandar, Phuket did what was expected and hold on to a shot at the first seed until a late season showdown with Bangkok. Until they can prove they can beat the Seamen, they won't be going any higher.
3)East St. Louis Tire Fires - After an up and down season, the late boosters stormed through the playoffs before being knocked out by the Seamen in (another) Conference Championship game. If they want to remain here, they need to show they can beat Phuket or Bangkok, while trying not to let a suddenly EXTREMELY competitive conference jump past them.
4)Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates - Breathing down the neck of ESL is the Pirates. After an early exit at the hands of the rival Tire Fires, the Pirates looks to improve on a good season and make a deep playoff run this season.
5)Singapore Mauraders - Another team surprised by the Tire Fires, the Mauraders go into this season with plans to advance much deeper in this years playoffs, and to challenge Bangkok for the crown. They have already shown they can beat anyone in the regular season, and now need to prove it in the playoffs.
Next in line
6)Pattaya Partisans - An early exit at the hands of Phuket has the Partisans wanting revenge. With only a 1 point win over Bandar, and losses to the other top teams last season, they need to take the next step to make sure they don't fall behind some of the bubble teams
Newcomers
7)Pennsylvania Silver Knights - Sporting a deep roster the AAA1 Alpha Champs look to make noise in the Pros. Until they play a few games here I can't place them any higher than 7th, although they very well could end up much higher.
8)Queensland Flash - With not quiet as impressive a roster as the Silver Nights, but a very impressive AAA2 Alpha Championship over the Mekong Monsoon and Manila Hitmen has the Flash placed here. They've shown they can beat teams that outlevel them in AAA2, now can they do it in the Pro's?
On the bubble
9)Niagara Jeanhorns - With the additions of the Silver Knights and Flash it's put up or shut up time for the Jeanhorns. They are going to be in a fight for a playoff spot and look to improve on a 1st round playoff exit from last season.
10)Macau Gamblers - Another playoff team from last season trying to stay afloat, the Gamblers have there work cut out for them, but don't count them out yet.
Looking to improve
11)Xi'an Dragons - A few CPU players, and lower levels, mixed with some players in the 30's will leave the Dragons on the out side looking in.
12)Chaiyaphum Gothic - Lacking the talent to compete with the leagues elite, the Gothic will need to win some close games and surprise some teams if they want to move up the ladder.
13)Holbrook Roadrunners - In much the same situation as the Dragons and Gothic, they will need to bring in some more players or hope to win some games they shouldn't if they want to rank higher.
Last in line
14)Canisteo FaceEaters - A team rebuilding, but a few higher levels put them above the others and will keep them in the Pro's for another season.
15)Spokane Vandalizers - Rebuilding team
16)Taiwan Roayls - Did they ever start to rebuild or is the team just remaining gutted? That many CPU's and inactive dooms there season before it starts.
