Here's the deal. I bought a team to see the other aspects of the game because I had the flex handy. Also, another message board to be social on would be good for me since I've been living on a small Japanese island of 2500 people for the past 3 years.
I don't plan on being a gets-in-the-way owner. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to be around and here everyday, but I'm also new to the game. So, think of me as the rich foreign business man who bought a team because he likes sitting in the owner's box. If the GM wishes, I'll build a non-glam role player to add to the team.
Here's what I want our team to be and what the GM should to focus on:
1: Being competitive. Winning matters. That said, if you have the vision of running a team that is friendly for lower level players, that's fine with me. I want it to be a fun team.
2: Financially responsible and playing it straight. I won't sit back and watch my team get raped of its players and cash for the benefit of someone else. The Beach Boys are not a farm team or a dumping ground for contracts and players from other teams. In fact, I'd rather have my GM not be a GM or owner of another team to help prevent the temptation. I'm looking for new talent, or experienced talent, that wants a shot at executing their vision.
What you will get:
I will give my GM access to all privileges. The only one I might override you on (more of a tinkering curiosity) are stadium issues. However, if you see me doing something stupid with prices, I'll gladly listen to your input and learn from you. As the GM you can get anyone you feel you need to win. You don't have to worry about me trying to stock the team with my current players, and I hope you won't use the team solely as a place for your players to start.
Let's have an actual team, not just 5 people with 10 players each. So, the challenge is, if you think you can build a winner from scratch prove it in Honolulu.
I'll make my decision based off your answers to these things;
1. What is your vision of the team? By vision I mean things like what is the team identity, our strategy, and how and how you plan to execute it.
2. Your experience (breadth and depth of your GLB knowledge)
3. Favorite college and pro football team.
Team: Honolulu Beach Boys, USA BBB #12
