The conference room was packed in Sander's home town of San Francisco. Press from all over the country were patiently awaiting the news of where "Save Me" was going to land next.

The last few days going up to the offseason for Sanders had been tumultuous. Hundreds of teams trying to get him to sign and help their franchise get past that next step to a championship. There were even rumors of a drunken commitment to one team, that had to be backed out of the next day. Either way the time was now.

Darren calmly walked out to the podium and scanned the room. Behind him were seven different number 18 jerseys, one from each of the top teams that he was considering. As he stopped at the podium and adjusted the mic, he saw some of his old Portland teammates. Sanders flashed his trademark smile, before finally addressing the media.

"So... what are you all doing here today?"

Everyone in the room went quiet, seemingly puzzled.

"Okay, so humor is lost on you guys. Back to business. I was a Portland Outlaw for a little over 3 seasons. I had wins, I had stats, I had losses, I even had a failed guarantee. I had everything there. Everything but a playoff birth. Unfortunately that was never able to come about. Great guys, great city, great organization. In my mind I will always be an Outlaw. But those times for me are over. Its time to join a new franchise."

Hands rose all over the room, Darren simply shook his head.

"Now I've had promises of championships, money, and playing time from nearly all those scrub teams that have contacted me. But I was able to narrow the potential teams to the ones whose jerseys you see here. One from Sin City, the Red Dots, UFA, the Minsk Ninjas, Maracaibo Stingrays, and last but not least the London Angels."

Sanders paused, quickly smiled, before continuing.

"All these teams are going to be great next season, and I wish them all the luck. But I can only choose one, so now Im going to shut up and show you where Im going next year."

Laughter rolled through the room, before going quiet as "Save Me" moved towards the jerseys. He looked over all the jerseys before slowly moving to the UFA jersey. About to take it off its hook he looked over his shoulder and shook his head, mouthing the words "No way". Silently chuckling, he went to the other end and picked another jersey before holding it up.

"There you have it. Although Im changing cities, a few things are not changing. Production isnt going to change.Winning attitude isnt going to change. And most of all IM not going to change. So like I said before....Im always going to be an Outlaw. Just now im an Outlaw in Sin City."

Good luck to you next season. It was a fun recruitment. At least you used jerseys -- the hat thing is played out.

Thought at least UFA would post here. Because they went from like a number 1 team to basically off my list with a single comment by their DC.

So what did my team do to have a commitment one day, and an "oops I was drunk when I said I'd join your team" the next?

I am certainly looking forward to having him on the team. As far as the challenge goes, we can certainly work something out. Let me know.

Portland star receiver, Fingers Butter, issued this statement through his agent:
"Save-me is a great guy and a great player. Sin City have just become a better team. From one Outlaw to another, good luck Darren."

nah, he's good, just a weird recruit.....

Commits to my team the night before he announces. Shuts down his thread saying he's chosen his team, and then PM's me the next day saying "i'm sorry, i was drunk last night".

Yeah, I am happy our DC made that comment. Your posts were just assenine to put in a team forum when that team WELCOMED you in as a visitor.

I PM'ed henne to remove you from forums a while ago.

For example when someone posts "Enjoy our UFA cheerleaders" and you reply "That comment doesnt make me want to come here, i love my girlfriend" I know you were a headcase. Did you not realize Ufa doesn't have actual real-life cheerleaders? The comment to enjy them was said in jest.

So happy we decided we didnt want you
