We have a guy with catch of 60 and jumping at 48 and he led the team in drops once he got it that high.

60 catching means he'll be going after balls he normally wouldn't be going after, thus contributing to more tries at poorly thrown balls and more drops.

60 catching means your WR will get more looks
60 catching means you're likely not faster or more agile than he who covers you
60 catching means you likely can't jump as high as he who covers you
60 catching means you spent too much in catching

and so, 60 catching means you will "drop" a lot of passes due to deep coverage and lack of other important strengths - like the ability to separate.

IMO, WRs "go after" every single ball thrown to them. if they don't then wtf are they doing? running track and not paying attention?
