Sort of disagree...with the changes in rules concerning what DBs can do and the high cost of OL, I just think passing is easier than running in the NFL.

Name a team that wasn't good at running the football that won the super bowl in recent memory? Don't say the patriots either as they did not win this past season, which was the first season they did not have a good run game.

Not true. Now I will admit they won with DEFENSE, BUT in the super bowl they proved they were a balanced team throwing for 220 and rusthing for about 150. Fact is the Buccaneers were a grind it out ball control team which was reliant on the running game and balanced with the possession passing game.

Anyone else want to give it a go?

Just because he said passing is easier than rushing doesn't mean rushing is impossible.

Eh the 99 Rams had 27 yards rushing in super bowl 24.

What are you talking about? I'm saying that based on team offenses, the statistically better teams are the one passing the ball more.

Also, you can't ask a question, then dismiss an answer that is 100% right. They rushed the ball in the the Super Bowl ...so what? They were the 27th ranked rushing team over the course of the season. They were a BAD rushing team. Period.

To continue..the Colts were a below average rushing team in the regular season, the Favre Packers were pass first, and every Niners team except the 94 version finished in the bottom half of the league as a rushing unit.

They may have been bad compared to the rest of the league, but where were they ranked passing??? They were a balanced offense. Colts may have been pass first, but without the run (which was effective) they wouldn't have won it. They had a good run game and a team doesn't have to run it 80% of the time to have a good run game. Rankings are done by yards per game which isn't necessarily a great indicator as you can have a great pass game and still a good run game that does not get as many yards due to not as many carries. Now the 49ers are a ridiculous comparison as they had Roger Craig! The dude was a stud back and just because it was the west coast style that bill walsh made famous doesn't mean Roger Craig didn't flourish in it. Dwight Clark's "catch" isn't the only thing they did right....

If you want to go by pure stats and not by wins and losses or by super bowls then alright, but I thought the point was to win games not gain yards. When Texas Tech wins an NCAA Championship then I might change my mind

You're dancing around the point.

You're basically saying that a good team should be balanced and should be able to run as well as pass. Well, no shit.

The point I was making from the beginning is that the better offenses in the league statistically are the ones that are pass first.

Again...no shit. But all you've been saying really is that good teams need to be able to control the ball at times. You can do that with your passing game too.
