Today Rochester Vendetta ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=1321 ), the premier team in USA BBB#2 has announced that they are holding walk on tryouts for a few key positions that will become open in the off season.
"This is unprecedented at this level of football" says owner Binestar, the founding owner and personal agent of multiple players on the team. "I've come to know that even relative unknowns who didn't go through the standard path for football training are always being found. I'm hoping to tap into this previously untapped area of recruitment to help our team fill a couple of holes."
The Rochester Vendetta are reportedly hoping to find a starting ROT, and a speedster WR. Previously in the positions were Johnny York, who is moving closer to home and joining a team there, as well as Max Catchum, fifth on the depth chart this season, but second in receptions.
On the defensive Side, the Vendetta are looking for a Linebacker to flesh out the options for both 3-4 and 4-3 as needed. "We'd prefer to get a starting replacement for Breaker Jones" says Owner Binestar, who is the agent for Breaker Jones, "But we'd also accept someone willing to work on the depth chart for a season or 2 if that is what they want."
Reportedly all of the positions that Binestar has agents on the team in are up for grabs.
"My agents are in places from Wide Receiver to Corner back to Defensive Tackle, and while they are key parts of our team, none of them are irreplaceable." say Binestar "These guys would like nothing more than to move on to help other teams, but they feel a sense of loyalty to the Vendetta and won't leave until the void that would cause will be filled."
From an organizational standpoint the Vendetta has been a rock steady team since season two, then they formed and went 13-3 in a very tough BBB league, ending the season with the 5th seed and a disappointing first round loss to the Tornado Humpers. In season 2 the Vendetta had a breakout season and went 16-0 in the regular season, only to lose to "The Damned Sentinels" in round 2 of the playoffs.
This season the Vendetta went 13-3 and are currently scheduled to play the Heat on day 38 for the Western Conference championship.
"This is a HUGE game for us this season, we're looking for vindication for last seasons upset loss to the Sentinels which ended our playoff run" says Binestar.
The organization has had relatively few issues with roster management. "The vast majority of our team has played their entire career with the Vendetta, and plans to continue here for as long as they can hold onto a football." says defensive tackle Oncoming Train.
The Rochester Vendetta stadium is the second largest in the BBB#2, and already this season orders are in for the rest of the stadium expansions, and all the current sections are maxed out with seating. "We're in a great position financially, and next season we will be paying for all of our players level 32 equipment." Team financial filings show that the team has spent over 34 million on stadium expansions in the last 3 seasons, and have also paid for equipment for all of their players to be at peak performance. With 14 million in the bank, the Vendetta are one of the most financially stable teams in the entire BBB level of football.
Tryouts will include interviews with Binestar, who is owner and Offensive Coordinator for the Vendetta, Jerry, their Defensive Coordinator and mastermind, as well as a complete physical examination to determine the suitability to join the team. There will be extensive in house meetings with all the players and GM's to make sure the team chemistry will be intact.
