OK, so we got burned multiple times on plays like this and I am not sure how to counter them going forward. I figured you all know significantly more about the tactics than I, so please let me know if you have any insight.

The first is a pass to the HB out of the backfield. My LB's were set to focus on the run and when it became apparent that it was a pass play they drop into coverage. Only problem is no one moves to cover the HB and he is wide open for good gain. They got us multiple times with this one.

The second is a 3 WR set where the #1 WR stops on his route but the #3 WR keeps going. Problem is both my CB's stop when the #1 WR stops leaving the field wide open for WR #3. Now clearly I could pick a different coverage for more depth but on 1st down I have to protect against the run as well. Just don't understand why in man coverage each CB doesn't just stick with their own man.

Anyway, as I said I appreciate any insight from the crowd here. Whatever the deal is, these guys definitely tore my D up in this game. I guess some teams will always have your number even in a computer game.

The pass to the HB has the LB's in zone coverage, set them to man so they'll follow the HB or blitz the CB strong side

The CB who stops to wait is a Strong Safety. Get a CB in there. I'd also wager that the WR are faster than your SS and he's been built for vision and agilty.

after-thought......play a 3-4 D and blitz the LILB. while the LOLB is in man coverage on a cover 1 or 2 could nail the HB pass play.
