I been using the Cover 1 for short yardage and Cover 2 in a Base D. I've had good results with my more experienced team, but not with my 1st season teams that I GM.
Does anyone have an opinion on what Cover shell works best for a general or base D?

If you have a hard hitting safety and trust your CB's, then Cover 1 can really come in handy for stopping the run.

Cover2, especially if your LBs are dropping back into zone, means giving up 5-7 yards guaranteed on many plays.

If you're using one all the time, they're both terrible. It's very easy for an opposing team to eat up either one if they know for sure they'll be facing it.

Well I been using Cover 1 as a short yardage D and a mix of both for a Base D. Actually more Cover 2 than Cover 1 in a Base D. But a lot of Man defense, I been reading on the thread that zone really sucks.
