I'm new to the game, but want to get deeply involved. MY philosophy for the defensive side of the ball is to have Gap-clogging DTs freeing up room for a roving Mike backer. Having DEs that get up field quick (pass rushers) with the OLBs playing in short zone roaming sideline to sideline. Aggressive, physical CBs with coverage minded Safeties for the over-top help. Think Miami Dolphins when their defense was top 5 in the league.
Offensively, I want to run the ball. Speed HB and change of pace blocking/power FB with lots of use of bubble screens and dink & dunk passes to set up home run plays. Need speed WRs and quick, aggressive line. TE would be used mainly for blocking and sometimes to exploit the seam.
