I want to build this guy as a pass rushing DE. Any comments on where I should grow next? I don't have any special abilities at this point. I have heard that speed and agility will increase my sack/hurry count, so I have recently changed all my custom gear to add to these and lost some strength in the mean time.

Also, at what level should I start adding points in first step, tunnel vision, etc? I heard around 16 previously.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Strength: 45
Speed: 37.5
Agility: 33.3
Jumping: 12
Stamina: 31.19
Vision: 14
Blocking: 12
Tackling: 24.83
Confidence: 12

I did the same, my strength was 62-63 and I moved 6 points to Agility.

You know more often then not build advice is going to differ with everyone. In the guide stickied in this forum it says 65-70 in strength, while others say even 60 is too much.

I am simply aiming to have my strength, speed and agility in the 50-55 range.

There is no parity in this game, one DE with a crappy build can get 40 sacks while a DE 8 levels ahead of most his competition can barely get 1.

I am starting to think its just luck of the draw most games.

I guarentee a DE with a crappy build can't get 40 sacks. I think you put a bit too much stock in having mid-level stats.

I was being sarcastic, the point is production and build will always vary.

For instance if you took 2 identical build DE's and placed them on identical lines against identical opponents thier performance/stats would not only be different but id bet drastically different one way or another.

While advice is all well and good everyone differs on thier opinion of how best to build a DE.

Hell the stickied post in this forum suggests 65-70 in strength while every other thread says 60 (and in some cases 55) is too much.

The main problem is that the stickied post got stickied in season 3 when pass-rushing was totally different. It was a lot more about shedding blocks and working your way through opponents. Now with the nerfed bull rushing and the new pass-rushing tactics speed rushers tend to be more dominant. I'm sure it'll sweing back and forth a few times before settling somewhere in the middle.
