There are so many free agent kickers that there seems to be little point in listing my level and skills and saying nothing else. Nor will I exclaim that I'll kick the crap out of the ball. I cannot guarantee that, I can only build a complete player and let the simulation take it from there. Hopefully the following will set my kicker apart from the crowd.
To address the thread title, I believe my build is better than most at level eight primarily because in my first full season on a development league team I never played. Essentially that means I leveled so slow that I have an extra season of training than most level eights. I think that is clear in my build that can be viewed here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=528894 (with a little more cash for equipment my kicking skill will be two points higher).
Also, quite a few people don't seem to realize the importance of confidence for a kicker. Kickers gain +1 to kicking and confidence each time they level. Therefore, I aimed to get these two skills up to 49 as fast as possible to benefit more from leveling (I now get +1 to those skills without having to spend two points). I'm currently working on strength, when that reaches the point where it costs two points to increase I'll switch to vision.
My weakness is that I do not boost. However, I believe I have a good understanding of the game and have experience at other positions (LB, CB, WR). Sure, you can sign any kicker to your team and then that's it. Or you can have a kicker that checks the forums daily, provides advice for other positions, and won't waste points on a ridiculous player build.
