Shit, I guess it has been 3 games since I posted one of these, and the outrage over having no rankings has been… well non-existent (See I wrote this at work today, before I saw the righteous rage being spewed in another thread) . So we will just skip the excuses, and the reasons for my absence, and get right into the rankings.

Anyway the components are as follows:

OPOA – Offensive Points Over Average, how many points have you scored against your competition vs. the average they allow.

DPUA – Defensive Points Under Average, how does you points allowed each game compare to the average scored by your opponent.

SOS – Strength of Schedule, are you playing tough competition, or have you build your record on the gutted ruins littering the bottom of the rankings.

WB – Did you beat a top team, then you get bonus points, did you beat one of the ND’s of BBB#7, then you get nothing.

Well, 3 more games have been played, and the rankings pretty much look good now. So while I may disagree with who is number 1, or there may be a question about a spot or two, there doesn’t seem to be any huge outliers left.

The Top of the Heap

#1 – Atlanta Purple Penguins (12-0, rank 52.42)

Three games pass, but there is no change at the top, as the Penguins ride an excellent defense and a killer WB number to maintain their spot at the top of the charts. APP has a bye this week vs. The State of Texas, before a huge showdown with Lincoln.

#2 – Oakland Nation (12-0, rank 50.55)

Last season the Nation’s defense lead the way to the top ranking, this season it is the offense putting up the best numbers in BBB#7. The undefeated Nation faces the DLF Gods this week as the Gods fight for their playoff lives.

#3 – Red Bank Thundercats (10-2, rank 43.69)

Red Bank doesn’t stand out in any one category, but the Thudercats are near the top across the board, proving to be a tough match-up for any team. The Buckeyes are up next, but the Thudercats can’t afford to be looking ahead to the Lycans in week 14.

#4 – Anchorage Vikings (11-1, rank 43.02)

An 11 game win streak has the Vikings in the #4 spot by the slimmest of margins. A huge game awaits the Vikings this week, as the tough as nails Chicago squad is next up on the Schedule.

#5 – Appalachian Lycans (11-1, rank 43.01)

OK, so here is the real reason for my recent absence. I couldn’t handle the pressure of dealing with the snub the spreadsheet was sending Appalachian’s way. But now they are in the top 5 and I’m back (Ok, I have no Idea what they were ranked the last 3 weeks). Jax Beach is heads to Appalachian this week for an excellent week 13 match-up.

2nd tier

#6 – Louisville Baby Kittens (9-3, rank 40.96)
Losses to APP, The Lycans and Lincoln have dropped the Kittens into the 2nd tier.

#7 – Austin Breakers (10-2, rank 34.22)
One of the hottest teams in the West slipped last week due to a tough loss to Chicago.

#8 – Lincoln Freedom Warriors (10-2, rank 33.53)
The early season struggles are behind them, but APP looms large on the schedule.

#9 – Chicago Whodat’s (9-3, rank 33.10)
Losing two of the last 3 hurts the ranking.

#10 – Texas Tarheels (8-4, rank 30.96)
Plenty of chances to pad stats the next few weeks before closing with APP.

If your ranking is under 20, you could be on the bubble

#11 – Malibu Mels (9-3, rank 29.89)
#12 – Houston Armageddon (8-4, rank 25.44)
#13 – LA Chupacabras (7-5, rank 23.32)
#14 – Syracuse Samurai (8-4, rank 18.59)
#15 – Saginaw Spirit (6-6, rank 18.56)

If your ranking is under 10, you could be in trouble

#16 – Texas Two Step (7-5, rank 15.84)
#17 – DLF Gods (6-6, rank 15.56)
#18 – Jax Beach Juggernauts (6-6, rank 10.58)
#19 – The River City Ransom (5-7, rank 8.33)
#20 – Visalia Paraplegics (3-9, rank 1.98)

Bigger corrections, the record or the ranking?

#21 – Fresno Anarchs (5-7, rank 1.55)
#22 – Cleveland Buckeyes (2-10, rank 0.13)
#23 – Big Whiskey Assassins (3-9, rank 0.10)
#24 - Santa Cruz Slashers (4-8, rank –3.59)
#25 - Phoenix Scorpions (2-10, rank –6.93)

And now for your stat padding pleasure

#26 - Big Money Dynasty (0-12, rank –9.12)
#27 – Sin City Showboats (4-8, rank –12.78)
#28 – Frostburg Bobcats (2-10, rank –13.13)
#29 – Baltimore Hustle (1-11, rank –13.57)
#30 – Richmond Empire (1-11, rank –14.99)

Well I think we have these two right
#31 – The State of Texas Domination (1-11, rank –31.79)
#32 – Amish Farmers (0-12, rank –46.47)

Man the Anarchs better than us? Didn't we beat them in the preseason with a worse team? Oh, well I guess an easy schedule helps with that... Man our schedule has been brutal.

Man, I know everybody's looking forward to today's titanic game between the Farmers and the Dynasty, but I'm all out of tickets, sorry!

Kyle was lucky to get one hand on those ridiculously high passes Kami threw. Honestly, I was both surprised and disappointed to see Kami fall apart in the clutch like that.
