i know its not the most current thread, but its still interesting. theres some people that got link's back in the thread, saying what a good guy he is. i'm new to bbb#7, so i dont really know much about him, but would like to get his side of the story. so what happened?

lol it's kinda old news.. i believe it was a big misunderstanding..

paid the guys flex points (my biggest mistake) for 2 seasons, he threatened to leave/take off equipment so i hijacked his player until i found a trade, in which case i relinquished his password. the dumbass still has the same damn password and i could take it again if i wanted, but i'm a nice guy, just don't catch me out underneath a full moon. . .

by the way, he's the only player i ever paid for, and would never ever do so again.

take it how you want to, i don't have to make excuses for you. The mods understood what happened and allowed it to happen. but i lost money in it, so yeah i am the idiot and i admit that. As far as me being a shitty owner, i'll leave that up to the players who play for me. Thundercats do seem to have a good owner, i've spoken with him on several occasions.

With regard to the more general issue of buying flex points for other players/agents/people, GLB is very ambiguous about this. On the one hand, they have stated on numerous occasions that they do NOT want to go the way of Cyberdunk where (apparently) buying points for people became almost a requirement in recruiting so that people who had more real world money had an insurmountable recruiting advantage. OTOH, they realize that there is no way they can possibly police transactions that take place outside of GLB. Legislating things that you can't enforce just undermines your authority. So they tried to create a middle road, not particularly successfully, where they say it is against the rules to use flex points as an inducement to sign or recruit. However, flex points as a "reward" for a good game, or player of the year, or comeback player of the season is apparently ok. It's a very sticky wicket.

Ultimately, Link and this player both got trapped by the consequences of what they both probably thought was an innocent--meaning not maliciously intended--transgression of the rules. I don't think Link is going to be making this mistake again, and I doubt the player is either.

This has been hashed over before, not only in the public Forums, but also in a thread in this very Forum that ended July 24. If you'd like, you can go back and read more about it there, but the bottom line is that it's done, it's over with, both parties have moved on and so (I think) should the rest of us.

i figured it was old news, but i was just browsing the forums when i randomly spotted the word "Lycans" in the title. i thought to myself "is that the same team in my new league?" and sure enough it was. thanks for sharing your take on things.

Links awesome and responsible owner trying to do whats best for the team, the past is the past mistakes may have been made, but its long gone and I for one could care less, lots of people fuck up doesn't mean they are bad people.

my no.1 qb, wouldn't bench'em for anything. just make sure it's not the night before a game!!!

At least you won't have to worry about him being too "tight" before a big game!!!
