So far this season all of my teams losses have come from games where our opponent ran the ball excessively. In some of these cases my defense wasn't tactically set specifically to stop the run. In other cases (like our last game), our opponent did exactly the kind of running game predicted, and we were destroyed despite my attempts to block their specific game plan.

Is there any generally good type of coverage to stop the run?

Part of the challenge is that its a different set of tactics to stop inside vs. outside runs.

You need a D line that is competitive with their O-line to face inside or offtackle runs.

For pitches you may need to put an extra CB on the field or have CBs train strength for a little

A solid defense can put a lot of trust into their DEs on the pitches.

Good point but you can never take the OT for granted because its too easy for an OT to overpower a DE considering the OTs have less places that demand SPs than a DE.
