I have a 28 HB who is putting out career numbers. Unfortunately he is doing this with fumbles too. So far this season he has managed to double his fumbles from last season.

He has:

Physical Attributes Football Skills
Strength: 30.42 Blocking: 15
Speed: 50.3 Tackling: 7
Agility: 65.4 Throwing: 15
Jumping: 15 Catching: 28.57
Stamina: 42.09 Carrying: 52.86
Vision: 48.92 Kicking: 7
Confidence: 29.89 Punting: 9

Last season he had 40 carry for most of the year and only had 5 fumbles. I realize he is carrying the ball about 2 more times per game this year than last, but I wouldn't imagine that would make this large of an impact.

I've tried both elusive and balanced running style and while balanced has lowered the fumbles somewhat, it may have only been an illusion due to the quality of competition.

I wouldn't be quite as concerned about this if it were Linebackers or SS making him fumble, that should be expected to a degree. But often times its a CB or FS.

Any Ideas?

Looking at your game log, there was one game with 3 fumbles, and a few others with 2. Having a bad roll and fumble the first time may make your morale so low that you'll easily fumble it again. At least in your 3 fumble game the first fumble was caused by a DT.

Possibly work on confidence?

I hope that is the problem. I've suspected Confidence or Strength are the problem, but I was hoping someone would see something that I've been overlooking, confidence was a suspect all along but I believe in the 3 fumble game I had much lower carrying. I recently moved some equipment over to carry to stop the bleeding.

~this.

it's prolly more of an issue w/ the teams you are facing.. not w/ your player.. 52~ carrying shouldn't have having fumbling issues IMO...

He's named Bill O'Reilly. How could you expect him to be anything other than a complete loser?

In general, I think it's just luck of the draw, I agree with ssaints, you shouldn't be having issues, but if you wanted, I'd go with a few points in cover up. With Carry where you have it, a few Cover up points will go a long way.

I'd say at that level, the strength of people hitting you is just plain over-powering you.
Might need to get strength up. I imagine carrying only does so much. You can have the best hands and tuck in the NFL, but if you are built like a 7 year old and Ray Lewis grabs the ball..yeah..

I doubt it is confidence unless you are already low on morale.

Note if it's helpful: While my power-back is semi low lvl compared to you, (16) he only has 1 fumble this season, which was to a higher level LB. 2x your strength/half of your carry.

ha, 52 for carrying. Had you put 20 of those points in strength you'd be much better in every aspect of your game.
