Week 8 is upon us and this will mark the halfway point. From this point on, teams will begin to be eliminated from playoff contention, as they are eliminated I will stop writing them up in this section due to time constraints. If you want a write up each week, put a product on the field that is worth writing about.
The Elite 4:
Honolulu Beach Boys: Facing one of their toughest challenges yet in the Mighty Chihuahua's is this the week the Beach Boys fall? This could be a huge game.
Timpanagos Thunder: Both undefeated teams could potentially lose today in what must be considered two playoff caliber games. Possibly 4 of the top 6 teams play each other today.
Possum Trot Plague: The Plague made a huge statement by beating the LBDA's. Long beach is an elite team, but PTP had a little more in the tank.
Long Beach Dub-Allstars: They fell to the Plague but that will not knock them out of the elite. They get a boost in the arm by facing the friendly Lancers who are everyones pick me up game.
Contenders:
Mighty Chihuahuas: After beating the Seminoles, The Mighty now have HBB at home. This game would be huge for the Dogs but it will not be an easy task.
Eugene Slugs: Speaking of the Thunder....
Chicago Inferno: Chicago has made it to 4-3 and faces the other 4-3 team, the Seminoles. This one has playoff implications and Chicago needs to win.
Aurora Seminoles: The Seminoles are going to be given one more chance to prove they can beat a team with a winning record, hell a team with more than one win... They face a team with the same record, let the battle of the 4-3's begin! Loser falls to the middle.
Muddled Middle
Virginia George Washingtons: Virginia moves up a spot after beating the bears. This team has the inside track on snatching that 8th seed from the fading seminoles and climbing out of the middle.
Houston Toxins: At 3-4 the Toxins also pass the Bears simply because I think in a head to head matchup right now, the Toxins would win.
Birmingham Bears: 3-4 and fading fast. One more loss and they are going to fall out of the middle completely.
Fading Fast
Dallas Hitmen: 2-5, On come the Crow....this could get ugly with a loss.
Montana Crow: The Crow make their final stand. Win this one and they pass the Hitmen, lose this one and its back to the Bottom feeders.
The Bottom Feeders:
Palmetto Bugs: still 1-6
Minnesota Mountain Lions: 0-7
Lakewood Lancers: no wins
Matchup of the Week:
LBDA vs. PTP
Two of the Elites battle it out, The Plague have lost to the Beach Boys, The All-stars to the Thunder. The winner of this game is going to be the clear cut favorite to take the #3 spot and will have a chance to overtake the loser of the HBB/Thunder game if they win out.
