OK its week 7 and I have rearranged the Teams to show the order I feel they are ranked in rather than simply putting them in the categories at random positions.
The Elite 4:
Honolulu Beach Boys: The Beach Boys went apeshit on the Lancers, fun but eh that was expected. Another walk in the park this week against the rebuilding Bugs so no Change at the Top.
Timpanagos Thunder: The Thunder have a tough team this week in the Inferno. This is one of those games that they need to be careful of. The Thunder look like they should win this one, but a few bad breaks and it could all fall apart.
Possum Trot Plague: The Plague face another tough opponent in Long Beach and this game will determine which team takes that #3 spot for the time being and stays right on the heels of HBB and the Thunder.
Long Beach Dub-Allstars: The Allstars can jump into the #3 spot with a win over PTP. This is definately the game to watch this week. In the past Long Beach has struggled in these type of games, but as I said earlier in the season, this is not the All-Stars of old.
Contenders:
Mighty Chihuahuas: The Chihuahuas play the second game of the week this week and have a Seminole team that is looking to prove themselves. The winner of this match is going to be close to gaining an elite ranking.
Eugene Slugs: The Slugs can breathe a little easier for a week with the Crow up next on the schedule. At 4-2 the Slugs have regained their footing and are looking once again to be a strong contender, well as strong of a contender as an "underdog" can be. How bout that Thunder...
Chicago Inferno: Chicago is moving in the right direction and has climbed back into the fray at 4-2. They have an excellent opportunity to move up in the rankings if they can upset the Thunder, but that is no easy task.
Aurora Seminoles: In possibly the toughest game of the week, the Seminoles have an excellent opportunity, but it comes with a doubled sided blade. Win and they move up in the rankings, lose, and they may find themselves in the middle. So far they have only beaten the bottom feeders but Losses to The Thunder and Plague are not damning losses, however they need to beat someone of substance in order to stay above the middle.
Muddled Middle
Birmingham Bears: 3-3 and sitting on the outside looking in. The Bears should beat the GW's but that doesnt mean they will.
Virginia George Washingtons: If they are to have a shot at the playoffs in their first season, they need to win this game.
Houston Toxins: Houston is moving up and after a string of close losses may be the best of the middle if they can continue to keep the tough games close and pull a few of them off.
Fading Fast
Dallas Hitmen: The Hitmen HAVE to win this, they have to. If they lose to Minnesota the problems may be fatal. A loss here would drop them into the bottom feeders which is a shock to say the least for this team.
Montana Crow: The only reason I havn't moved the Crow to the Bottom Feeder section is the fact that they have lost to the top teams and have not had a shot at the middle of the pack teams yet. They beat Montana, and nearly beat the 4-2 Seminoles.
The Bottom Feeders:
Palmetto Bugs: The bugs are on the right path, but its a long path before they find the light.
Minnesota Mountain Lions: If they upset the Hitmen today I will give them an honorary pass into the contenders section for a day just so they can see what it feels like.
Lakewood Lancers: Same old story
Matchup of the Week:
LBDA vs. PTP
Two of the Elites battle it out, The Plague have lost to the Beach Boys, The All-stars to the Thunder. The winner of this game is going to be the clear cut favorite to take the #3 spot and will have a chance to overtake the loser of the HBB/Thunder game if they win out.
