Looking for advice on where to spend them:

Strength: 21.02 Blocking: 20.04
Speed: 57.2 Tackling: 8
Agility: 55.88 Throwing: 10
Jumping: 35.1 Catching: 46.32
Stamina: 35.98 Carrying: 22.38
Vision: 39.51 Kicking: 10
Confidence: 26.57 Punting: 8

Possession: 5-5-3-3-3
Speedster: 3-4-1-1-1

Still good at a lot, master of few. Probably going to get catching to soft cap. Then I'm not sure. Thinking about confidence and carrying as drops this season are frustrating. Then I reconsider and think put the rest into speed/agility and train up confidence/carrying (which I'm presently doing). Possibly a few into stamina? See my dilemma? Any advice is welcome. Thanks.

How are your targets per game? If you want more of those, increase Catching/Vision.

You should be able to pull down passes in traffic if you boost those two attributes - and you'll receive more targets.

Targets are pretty low, actually. Only three or four per game (though he is typically playing the #3 WR position).

Out of curiosity, why/how does vision/catching affect targets?

WR Henriques the Englishman 38 targets 23 catches 61%
WR Sean Storm 32 targets 16 catches 50%

The Englishdude is getting targeted 6.3/game and Storm 5.3/game which is a bit more than three or four. Given the catch %, I would guess the Englishdude is the possession receiver. He's getting 50-100% more targets than you think he is!

Just saying.

Because of the new QB risk assessment.

When deciding who to throw to, the QB does a risk assessment and throws to the person he determines as the least risky/most rewarding. Now, separation is the most important aspect of this, but trying to match a CB's speed/agility is fruitless.

So, go for the mismatch. If your catching/vision outweighs the CB's ability to deflect a ball (and it's really not tough to do this right now), the QB will send it your way. As long as no one else is more "open" than you, of course.

I just don't see you going the speedy/agile route at this point. My advice would be to invest in catching/vision and the possession SAs. Actually, with your jumping/strength, I don't think you'll need much of a bump in your other attributes to see an increase in targets.

I see what you're saying. I guess I didn't read the QB risk assessment part. Do you have a link to that?

I understand what you're saying about catching, however where does the vision play into that? Finding the holes in the coverage?

Oh, and Packman they are both possession receivers, however Storm is the one in question. Englishman typically plays #1 while Storm typically plays #3. I based the targets on the last three games, which Storm received 4, 3, 3 targets.

Here's the update thread where Bort mentioned the changes to the passing game:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=2262&page=6

In other threads, specifically for Season 4 changes, Bort also mentioned that secondary attributes would play more of a role. He mentioned vision along with catching in that particular statement. It might be in the update thread... not sure.

So, since vision helps with catching and catching increases the likelihood that the QB will throw to you, vision and catching both help you get targets and haul them in.

Thanks DW - I was entirely too lazy to go find it

I agree with what has been said, but I would also add carrying. There was a post here by admin about it http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=125&page=3

that means ONLY fumbles. Once its caught, if you lose it its a fumble, or else its not a catch. so unless your guy is fumbling once a game, carrying = useless.

This has been very helpful, guys. Thanks. I think I'll probably go for catching and vision and concentrate more on the possession tree special ability. I agree that it's probably too late to go much more speed/agility now that both are at the soft cap. Points might be better spent elsewhere since he'll probably not be beating guys on the ground.

It is frustrating that we can't see the other special abilities working. Makes it hard to put many into "Jump Catch" or "One-handed Catch" or the others when you can't read that your WR actually made these types of plays.
