I see Portlands score growing big time from game 9 onwards

No offense to anyone but the backhalf of our season is a lot nicer than the front half

Thanks again Sully. This season is getting real interesting for a lot of teams real quick. It's nice having the rankings back up each week.

Get that game scheduled sully. Good job on the power rankings. But in my mind Portland is on top of the list after kicking our ass the last two times we played them. Hopefully if we make it to the championship game and they are there, then the old adage third times the charm comes into effect.

yeah, i'm not sure what's goin on there other than we haven't really played a tough team...but then again we played Louisiana and they are the team to beat, so i spit on the power rankings this year.

good job sully, you make this conference and division better by your presence.

yea i have to agre with koldfront here. i dont see how a team can beat a quality team like the dirtybirds, who may not be quite as good as in previous years but are still pretty solid, and yet get moved downthe rankings. please explain this to be?

The rankings are about stats a good team will move you down the rankings as you won't pile on the stats while other guys will

Well, it's been explained the past few seasons, but anyway...

The rankings rely on per game stats. If you don't perform at the same level you have in previous games, it will hurt your ranking. Not only that, if you perform at a greater level than you have, it helps your ranking.

In addition to that, don't be so myopic that you forget 31 other teams play in the league. The rankings take into consideration not only what your team does, but what the other teams do. Perhaps the team that moved ahead of you had a much better than average performance?

This isn't like college rankings where there's an unwritten rule that it's impossible to move down if you lose. No, these rankings are much better than that.

And if you think the rankings are ACTUALLY really based off of true power, I've got some swampland to sell you.

No offense to College Station...I'm sure they've got a decent team, but I doubt that they're REALLY the #2 team in our league.

The rankings are what they are. If you win by 10 points consistently...you may have a good team, but just not score a ton. That was us last year. We just weren't ranked high. Oh well...this is about more than just W's and L's. It's an objective stats-based look at the points scored, allowed, and yards gained and allowed.
