If you're going to slow build a player, you need to save the SP until after the season(s) and train everything during the season.....preferably on intense for as long as possible. You do not buy equipment, even from the start. You save that money to help fund your intense training.

This is an interesting concept. I will investigate this and put it up against the Soft Cap focus concept. I'm not sure how it will pan out. On one hand, you're losing the doubling effect of your leveling bonus, but on the other you're leaving yourself more skill points for other attributes. I am guessing it will be a wash, but then again I always thought that Slow Build w/ ASAP soft-cap was better than normal build with ASAP Soft-Cap and the difference actually is negligible.

Do you train skills to a given level before spending any points or do you just spend all at the end of your D league stint regardless?

And you really dont want to do this in the D-Leagues because your wont have high stamina to get the plays needed to develop quickly. You need to find a slow-build team to start at as a level 1.

i just came out the end of my slow build on my elusive HB at level 11.
i decided to only softcap speed/agi. if i continued to slow build more attaining playtime/stamina for snaps would be detrimental to the players developement.

currently at level 13.
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=636127

his base speed is 51, spent 27 points in it
base agi is 49, spent 29 points in it.

think this is what i will do in the coming levels

level 14 - xp into stamina
level 15 - xp into carrying
level 16 - xp into slusive tree primarily up to level 2 juke.
level 17 - xp into carrying
level 18 - xp into stamina
level 19 - SA's

after this prob start pushing towards 2nd softcap for agi. right now vision high vision isnt that much of a necessity.

i would defenitely say that slow building a HB is the way to go but i'll find out how he compares in coming levels.

Regardless of who you play for this too me is an interesting concept, and I want to add it to my slow build comparisons.

The only real way I can see this working well is if you train stats to certain levels before putting any points into them. Otherwise you're losing too much. For instance:

lvl 1 OT starts with 18 str. He trains it to 25 then puts SP into it, then on to AGI. It would not make any sense for him to train it to 25, then train something else without going ahead and soft-capping str. He's losing the lvling bonus if he does that.

Slow building is an effective way to get point from training. If you use you skill points it defeats the purpose. If i was slow building I would not use my SP for two seasons.

I prefer to not use any points until you can cap a skill, then cap it immediately so leveling gives you more valuable points.

Do it for two skills (after training them), then bring your other stuff up. I just like to train my skills when they're really low, in the teens, so I get a few extra points out of training. IMO it's a waste to use early SP on stamina/confidence/carrying if you're slow building.
