What is a good number to get blocking for WR's up to in order to help block for RBs on sweeps?

The higher the better. Strength works well, because CB strength is usually low. Strength 30, blocking 20-30, by Lv 25.

with 20+ strength and 15+ blocking you'll look solid out there on run plays as a level 20+ WR. Of course however, the more the better.

Blocking will determine how long they hold the block. Strength will determine whether or not they pancake the guy.
Go for higher blocking. More blocking than strength will be more beneficial to the running game. Trust me.

To answer your question more specifically, it depends how much you want to help. Want to be super effective and never drop the block on every sweep? Then you need 40 blocking. What to be useful the majority of the time? 30 blocking. Want to sometimes be useful? 20 blocking.

If you pancake the CB/S/LB it will not force the RB to try to juke or runover the defender like it does while the block is being held.
I'd still recommend if you want a good "blocking" WR, you get it to around 20-25. All the WR's on our team can block, and it helps a ton.

I agree Alfie, especially when you consider the frequency ratio between having your receiver be a target in the passing game and the number of times he blocks. It's soooo tough though putting any attention into blocking because there are so many other things to spend points on and to daily train

I must be crazy then, because that's what I see on all of the replays where our WR's pancake someone compared to when they don't.
