Vikings look to continue winning ways against the Bengals
After a disappointing opening loss to the surprise team in the league (the Houston Toros) the Compton Vikings have come back strong. “It was a tough day against the Toros all around” GM GoVikings16 said, “we have looked passed that game and are focusing on the games ahead of us.”
The Toros finished last season in the conference finals when the lost to the future champion Dodge City Six Shooters, but they were kind of the odd team out starting season 4. After the Vikings big improvements over the offseason and Honolulu staying tough no one really knew where the Toros would fall. Combine all that and add the fact the Toros played the Vikings, Bulls, and the Philadelphia Fighters in the first three weeks of the season and you have a reciepe for disaster. “When I saw their schedule I was dumbfounded” Compton owner musky5 told me. “They were a definite top 5 team in the conference, but I saw their start and thought they could be 0-3 after week three.” The Toros never thought twice about it though. They took each game as it came to them and won all three, leaving everyone else trying to play catch-up.
The Bayou Bengals started off with a few good wins, but we’ll see how they compare to the rest of the league when they take on the Vikings in a couple days.
The Vikings seem more focused then ever now, realizing they are going to have to play their best football in order to have home field advantage in the playoffs. Backup halfback Daniel Easter said about their start, “We’ll be okay. Yeah, the lost to Houston hurt, but I believe we are the best team in the league and we are only getting better. Once our chemistry gets into the 90s I don’t know if anyone will be able to stop us.” Daniel has had a great start to his season with 715 yards on 85 carries, and 9 touchdowns. Many people in Compton are wondering if a switch will be made and if Daniel will take over the starting job. “Sena is our starter” Easter said. “He is a great player and there isn’t a better person who I would rather play behind. The only reason I am putting up the numbers I am is because Sena goes out and runs wild then I get out there and the defense is too tired to even think.”
The Vikings will be in action again on Sunday when they take on the Bayou Bengals. The game will be aired live on channel 7, your home for Vikings football!
