GROUND RULES - You can only PICK TWO SKILLS to take to the soft cap. The others can be trained over the remaining life of the player but won't have skills invested. Assume you have enough SPD/AGI/CATCH that you won't have to worry about those ever again.

So, that leaves us with the following skills that a WR would be interested in....

So, which skills would you choose?

STR: Mmm, with the new power adjustments a high STR WR should abuse all those Deon Sanders' CBs.
JMP: No ball is out of reach, just lay out, stretch out, jump up for it!
VIS: You gotta find that open field!
CONF: Help improve your consistency with an ego no amount of drops can crush!
CAR: Take a licking and don't fumble! Can also turn you into a nice PR/KR man!

Right now, I'm leaning towards JMP/STR to try and make a big play WR that can catch most any ball thrown his way and out muscle 95% of the CB's out there.

Tough decision.

I would say train confidence and carrying off the bat. Leaving Strength, Jumping and Vision.

Tough call. I would say of those 3 vision is the most important so pencil vision in for one. The last one would be up to you. Strength would turn you into a powerful YAC man. Jumping would make you into more of a possesion style fellow.

^ Ya, that's really where I'm at a crossroads, what do I want to be? Big play or Possesion. I'd love to be a big play possession guy, but in general trying to do more than one thing leads to being average (or less).

I would say vision should be an easy pick. You can never have to much of that, especially as the Corners start to progress into the higher lvl's. It will be harder to find that opening. And I would prob. choose strength, depending on how you the others are trained to at this point. The strength could help you in carrying a little as you should just have people bounce off of you.

It has also been "speculated" that strength helps limit pass deflections since you are "muscling" for position. This is speculation though and not a proven fact. I too would lean towards strength, train jumping to low 20's and then drop a sp into it every now and again until it gets to 30.

You can also show up some linemen every once in a while with some high strength. Check this out http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=97141 Scroll down to the Offensive Line and look for Stew Griffin. They were a weaker opponent, but wow. And I only have 22 Strength lol. Looking to get it up some more though soon.

Vision hands down . Without that you can just throw that high catching out the window down to the homeless where they will spit on it and burn it because of the low value it has .

After that it's a tough one , depending on what kind of WR .

I'm still trying to find out how much confidence helps a WR and then jumping/strength well I'm gonna say jumping .

Right now I'm leaning toward VIS next and moving my EQ to STR and doing it as the second skill.

I may change my mind and take AGI up to the +3 cap instead, so many decisions

Haha - what a visual! And I had no idea vision was flammable...

Vision is a definite.

Then I'd go strength. Breaking just one tackle a game will lead to big gains. As Tothehouse mentioned, it's speculated that it also helps a WR fight for balls. And it helps blocking. And, eventually, breaking bump and run coverage. And reducing fumbles. And, and, and...

I might vote none of the above...I would go with taking agility up to the second soft-cap.

maybe.

Strength and Jump.

Strength helps holding onto the ball, breaking tackles, and catching.

Jump helps catching, and possibly, YAC.

And you don't think vision helps with catching the ball ? Interesting .
