How does the 'Ball spot' setting interact with the 'Special circumstance' setting?

Here's the default: http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll4/scarletmbb/OffensiveDefault1.jpg

OK, so for the FG input, the ball spot setting says between their 30 and their goal, and special circumstance is within FG range. Do both of those conditions have to be met to kick a FG? If they do, then it seems there would never be any FG attempts over 47 yards (since the ball spot has to be the 30 or less).

Now with the offense AI tester it seems that it does have to meet both conditions (ball spot and special circumstance) to kick a FG. So the default AI setting means there would be no FGs over 47 yards attempted...kind of weird. Was that a mistake (I know some of the other defaults were messed up too)?

It was probably just a mistake, or an effort to make sure that kickers kicked field goals when it was in 'sure thing' range for the old kickers.

I would say that if you set a ball spot and a special situation, then both would have to be met for the output to be executed.

i think that all the inputs have to be matched before an output can be followed

so if no inputs match the situation, the AI goes back to basic offensive settings and general football IQ

Setting both field position and special circumstances is redundant

E.G. - Let's say you set your Kicker's range to 47 yards. That means the special circumstance will look and see if you are at or inside your opponent's 30. (30 yards + 17 for the end zone and the drop back for the holder). So you don't really need to put field position in the input.
