my team has me as 3rd cornerback and backup FS. i wasj ust wondering if strong safeties can actually play both CB and FS just as well as SS.

I believe so.. I think it's entirely up to the GM, and or Defensive Coordinator to assign those position roles.
I'd ask.

Sure, the attributes to focus on are pretty similar. If you've got a high speed SS, he'd fit in fine with CB or FS. It all depends on the build, though.

recently i did the same. but we had different advanced tactics for CB and FS. CB were set at close/agressive and FS at close/medium, if i remember correct. that led to a few easy completions when the FS played at CB. other than that it worked pretty well.
