Quick question here.

At what point is it believed that Strong Base becomes more effective than shed block? Is their a str point on a DT where this becomes reality?

Thanks!

I would say it should depend on the olineman. If he is weak and you are strong, strong base should be best, since it "pushes the blocker out of the way". Shed block will be used best against low agility olinemen - "Allows the DT to get around blockers more easily" Ofc, you need agility to do this.

Breakdown of the abilities is all I can give. I am a NT/run stuffer, so the pass rushing tree is not my specialty!

If your DT/NT has about as much strength/more strength than the OLs you'll be going up against, I'd say go with strong base; if they'll have more agility but less strength, go shed block.

Both seem to be useful for pass rushing, it just depends how your guy is built. (You could also work on getting both up and playing as a combo pass rusher with the new settings, which may end up being the best overall when it's all said and done; we'll see.)
