Should I focus all my SAs into just one SA? lower shoulder? Power Through? Stiff Arm?

or should I evenly build all three. Which way is best? I prefer just putting 7 or 8 into lower shoulder, but I don't know how power through works or if its better or not

Power Thru, Lower Shoulder is decent. but stiff arm gets me most of my TDs and long runs. but that was preseason

Lower Shoulder and Power Through are SAs to help run people over and stiff arm is used to push tacklers away from the side when he's runnin down the field in the open.

If you're a speed back would stiff arm be useful to help shake that last defender on a long run?

well i would assume so.. but you would need high STR

Here's what's curious -

Lower Shoulder, in its description, says nothing about the chance of it working - just that it increases the bonus to break tackles, where as power thru working you would need to roll the dice. So I read it in this manner:

Points in lower shoulder necessarily help you in every break tackle roll, where power thru only has a chance to help you (but the help would be a much bigger bonus).

It then stands to reason that lower shoulder would help you more consistently, and would possibly stack with power thru. Again, these are just educated guesses.

no you don't.

read the SA. if it says nothing activates it, then you need nothing to activate it. (other then the points in the SA itself obv)

I read it the same way.

If you read the end of Power Through, it also says "and increases the bonus to break tackles", which is the same thing that is said in Lower Shoulder. So, it seems like it's basically the uber version of Lower Shoulder.

Read the whole thing - the "and" is attached to something - logically - 'and' means both parts of the statement needs to be true.

First you must succeed in power thru [ie roll the dice] before the increased bonus.

In my mind, here are the steps:

1. Defender closes for tackle. (check for diving tackle range, too)
2. Roll for stiff arm - if not successful, move on to 4 - if successful:

Defender Strength/Agility/Vision

vs.

HB Strength/Agility/Vision * Stiff Arm Bonus

3. If defender wins the contested roll, move on to 4 - if not, break tackle.

4. Defender attempts tackle:

Defender tackling/agility/strength * tactics modifier

vs.

HB carrying/strength/agility * Lower Shoulder Bonus * (power thru bonus if successful).

5. If defender wins the contested roll, tackle - if not, break tackle.

It would make sense to me if a stiff arm check happened before the actual tackle check as seen above(if you were successfully stiff armed, then you shouldn't be able to make a tackle attempt, right?)
