Time to compare how good carrying is at breaking tackles compared to strength. (I fully expect strength to be a lot better)

After first scrim:
4 carries, 10 broken tackles, 1 TD for the Carrying Back. (36 carry)
17 Carries, 14 broken tackles, 1 TD for the Strength Back. (35 str)
5 carries, 3 broken tackles, 0 TD for the Strength/Carrying mix back. (22 str/22 carry)

Note: These are just brief experiments and will probably be retired shortly so they won't be too seriously in depth. Just curious really. Its not meant to be super conclusive as its a d-league low level test. All players were level 1 and in D-League.

Smeegly and Doogly are on opposing teams for the upcoming sim... Hah.

Well the all strength back did a lot better. The mixed one did bad. The Carrying back did better than expected.

Its a little skewed for the all strength one because the team he played had pretty much an all CPU defensive line. The mixed back had a bad line (mostly CPU).

The backs with more carrying seems more fluid in their running while the strength back was a bit more clunky and just seemed slower. (I know carrying is supposed to help elude tackles as well now.)

All-in-all I think that carrying is worth getting higher than 30 now for power and elusive backs alike. Seems like carrying does what it is supposed to do now, make you better at carrying. Going to keep them active for now to get another game or two for further analysis.

75% strength 25% carry?

Trying a HB with nothing but Stiff arm (and the SA's required to get it)

Couldn't say, these are all level 1 HBs. Again these tests are really inconclusive as they are being tested with level 1 HB's in d-leagues.

Make sure to have lots of agility! Stiff arm is a great ability when the tacklers are behind or beside you, so just make sure you have enough agility to not run face first into a defender and you should be golden.

Yeah, the stiff arm guy was horrible, didn't break a single tackle. Just furthers proof that attributes > SA's at low levels.

Didn't plan on taking him beyond level 1. Was just bored as hell today and decided to test a few things out.

He'll do better than you think he will.

Mine did better than I thought he would. Strength is still king in breaking tackles, but carrying is definitely noticeable.

They are both factors in breaking tackles. Get strength to soft cap, carrying to soft cap, some speed and agility to move faster with decent vision and a nice dose of the power back SAs and you got your self a dominant power back.
