I'm certainly not trying to talk anyone into following me into quiting the game. There are some semi valid arguments that have been made, but I think you are taking what I'm saying to an extreme and not really paying attention to the problem. Maybe Bort didn't forsee people ruling his game with too much speed, and it needed to be fixed. That's fine. However, he needs to be more specific with what's going on with the changes, and he needs to allow players that are greatly effected by the changes a chance to respec. How long before the spreadsheet divas figure out a way to exploit the next great weakness, and we all have to suffer another season of trying to fix our players? It works out great for Bort though because the fastest way to fix your problems is to boost.

PinTBC.. I agree with some of what you posted, but your last sentence is wrong. When it is completed (on the path it's on right now) there won't be very many ways to spec.

To get X speed you need X-Y agility.
To be able to rush the passer you need X strength, X agility, Y speed, vision, confidence... etc etc etc etc

Otherwise your player with just spin in cirlces and crap himself. You must conform to Bort's spec or else.

They WR you described should still be allowed to exsist as fast as he was before. He shouldn't be slowed. He should just drop a ton of passes because of low catching.

I dislike the strong codependency of the attributes that has been introduced. I would not have minded strengthening the attributes. Make WRs with crappy catching catch less. Make CBs with crappy tackling miss tackles, but don't make a DT with 70 strength unable to perform strength based skills because his confidence and vision are below 30.

Good luck everyone with the season. I will probably be lurking here and there, but not posting much anymore. I'm sure some of you all will probably like that though haha.

Put this way I agree with much of what you have to say. The only nerf I am aware of though is speed. People were able to make a guy with all speed and no agility and still be able to make cuts and run decent routes. I think this had to be fixed. The only route a all speed WR should be able to run without difficulty is a fly route.

Kicking was also nerfed. But having level 20 K's make 55+ yd field goals 90% of the time is definitely something that needed nerfing.

See maybe that is why Crimson was seen as fairly powerful, MOST of our players and builds actually have high visions, and decent confidences, for a variety of reasons. We have a collection of people behind the players, some of us used to play football, and others just enjoy the hell out of the game.

Speed, in its original description was described as straight line speed. Agility was described as the ability to accelerate or maintain speed when making a cut or changing direction. The speed of last season, was pretty much everything. You had instant acceleration, and no loss of speed on direction change. It was the 'uber' stat. Do I think he 'nerfed' it too much, not sure yet. I'm really not seeing a ton of effects right now. Even Mumbles still gets open deep, and his agility really needs some help.

He also shouldn't be able to make a cut, and do much more than run in straight lines as his vision (seeing the field, and knowing where to go) is low also. He should be slow off the line, until he can get his 'lotion in motion'. Oddly, that is the biggest effect I've seen. Those shit hot fast receivers with only speed take a very long time to accelerate. Can you imagine the screams if Bort actually made people train in catching, carrying, tackling, and blocking.. Those are some very underutilized skills.

That 70 strength DT, should be able to stand on the line and be an immovable object. He should have a difficult time, seeing gaps to shoot, he should have a difficult time predicting where the ball carrier is headed, and without tackling, his 'sphere of influence' (area he can grab a guy running by) should be fairly small. Hell, I played with guys like that (a very long time in High school), they were mooses that no-one could move, and they could do what they were told, but that was really about it.

Baaa, I'm lurking. We don't even play here any more, and I still like to read this damned forum.
