I build stages and run video cameras for a living. My wife and I both do it, in Baltimore.
The Virgin Music Festival is coming next week, and it's a couple stages over a couple days with just a couple bands... like 40 or so. We do it at the racetrack that they hold one of the triple crown races...
It's a big fucking event and we have to build from nothing 2 theatres, 2 control rooms and multiple spotlight towers (among other things) in 2 days on soft dirt. Then we have to run the event, then take it back down...
A friend of ours is taking my son off our hands for about a week-10 days, so my wife and I will probably just bring our dog to the site and stay there for the most part the entire week. It sucks (but shit, when your job is putting on the biggest concerts in the country, there's no room for bitching), but at the end of the week, if we both work as much as is possible, we could walk away about 6-7 grand richer. It'll probably end up being about half that, but a couple people WILL make over 3k just by themselves this week.
