Anyway take us vs. LSU last year as an example. The little Kentucky Wildcats who finish 7-5 beat the future National Champion. And thats just one upset. Everyone sees how good the SEC is in bowl games anyway (I think we were 7-2 or 8-1). Oh and dont say something stupid like Michigan beat Florida in the bowl game to prove how much better the Big 10 is. Everyone nows that the only reason Mich played that well is just beacuse it was Carrs last game. Plus Florida was only 4th or 5th best in the conference. Point is SEC teams usually get screwed out of the National Championship because of the SEC strength

There is a really easy way for SEC teams to stop "getting screwed" out of a National Championship. Start playing real teams OOC. They don't get screwed because of the SEC strength, they get screwed because of the lack of schedule strength.

When Auburn went undefeated in 2004, they didn't get respect because their OOC included Citadel (out of the football championship subdivision), Louisiana-Monroe (Sun Belt), Louisiana Tech (WAC). Oklahoma got the nod because they played 3 teams in the football bowl subdivision including one from another BCS league. USC also played 4 teams in the FBS including ND and Vtech.

oh ok play OOC teams. I can simply defend that by looking at the bowl games but I am going to look up those "cake walk" games right now.

you mean like these: (h=home/n=neutral/a=away)

oklahoma (h/a)
south florida (3h)
fsu (n)
clemson (h/n/a)
texas (h/2a)
usc (2h/2a)
ga tech (2h/3a)
wash st (h)
kansas st (h)
wvu (h/2a)
oregon (h/a)
texas tech (h/a)
mizzou (h/a)
wake forrest (2h/3a)
va tech (h/a)
arizona (h/a)
oregon st (h)
az st (2a)
colorado (h)
ok st (h)
miami (h/a)
indiana (2h/2a)
rutgers (2h)
duke (2h/a)
nd (h/a)
cal (h/a)
ucla (a)
virginia (h/a)
north carolina (a)
nc st (h)
mich (a)

these have all been sec ooc games since 2002-2008. and this is only against bsc schools. also, this is NOT counting the rivals such as uf/fsu, uga/gt, etc.

for those you can add:

gt (4h/3a)
fsu (3h/4a)
louisville (3h/4a)
miami (2h/a)
clemson (3h/4a)

so, while auburn's 04 ooc schedule was less than impressive, it is more the anomaly than the usual. and even still, au in 04 played more top 10, top 15 and top 25 teams than anyone else that year. im not an au apologist, in fact i dont think they would have done much better than ou vs usc, but there schedule was plenty tough.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...

The SEC has won the last two National Championships. Florida and LSU BOTH beat Ohio State(the BIG 10's best) like a drum. Don't get me wrong,(I'm being neutral) my team is in the ACC, but the SEC is the strongest conference in college football right now, followed by the BIG 12 and PAC 10 respectively. The BIG 10 is weak compared to them. The BIG 10 is at best, the 4th best conference in the nation.

I agree, the Big East has been building some pretty solid teams over the past few years.

Ha! Ole Miss is going to be a surprise team this year. We have a lot of underrated talent, and one of the top d-lines in the country. Realistically, we should go 7-5, but 9-3 or 10-2 is not out of the question if we can pull a couple of upsets.

Dude you realize those teams are 6 years of games, the teams i dont see in there are the teams that at least one SEC team plays each year

FCS Southwest
FCS Southeast
The Citadel
Central Florida
ECU
Miami Ohio
Kent
Akron

these are all teams that an SEC team has played in the In the last 3 years And this isnt even every bad team they play. Meanwhile teams like USC are scheduleing amazing OOC schedules such as VTech, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and even the semi good Arkansas. theres not doubt the SEC is a better conference, but its teams make the excuse that there league is so hard they need to schedule pussies in order to survive.

I'm against weak schedules for all teams, not just SEC. I can give plenty of examples of weak OOC schedules. Look at ND right after Weis showed up, they had two seasons of weak schedules and ended up in BCS bowls on both. Kansas last season had a weak schedule and should not have been in the Orange Bowl over Missouri. I even like Kansas better than Missouri.

The biggest problem I have is when teams in BCS conferences play FCS teams. At least play FBS teams, if that means MAC, WAC or C-USA. 9 teams this season from the SEC play teams from the FBS. I know these are guaranteed home games that bring in more money to the schools. I'll make a list of the BCS conferences.

ACC 11/12 (5 Atlantic, 6 Costal) 92%
Big 10 9/11 82%
SEC 9/12 (5 West, 4 East) 75%
Big 12 9/12 (4 South, 5 North) 75%
Big East 6/8 75%
PAC-10 2/10 20%

So out of 65 teams, 46 play a team from the FCS (71%). Winning bowl games does not justify playing weak OOC schedules. If the team is that good, prove it during the season.

usc does the best job of ooc scheduling, no doubt, but their overall schedule is no better than most sec teams. what does it matter if it is in con or ooc? if it is a tough game, it is a tough game. sec teams usually have 1 tough ooc game and 4-5 in conf. usc has 3 tough ooc games, and 2-3 in conf. thats 5-6 for both.

i agree about the d1a, thing.

Maybe in a couple of years but right now the BIG10 is better IMO. This is of course still the preseason so we just have to see how things turn out. There will more than likely be a few surprise teams as well as a few disappointments.
