Agricultural and Mechanical

There are a number of A&M colleges that were established in the mid 1800s, as part of the Land Grant Act.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrill_Act

That tells you all the schools that were part of the act.

Oklahoma A&M is now called Oklahoma State
Michigan A&M is now called Michigan State
New Mexico A&M is now called New Mexico State

etc etc

Interestingly enough, Michigan State and Texas A&M had the same logo at one time.

Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas = AMC
Michigan Agricultural and Mechanical College = MAC

Another typical style of the name of these universities was Polytechnic schools

Virginia Polytechnic = VaTech
Alabama Polytechnic Institute at Auburn = Auburn University (formerly API)

etc etc

Also you will notice that the southern states will have at least two Land Grant Act schools, this is because the act was passed and occurred during reconstruction, so as part of the reconstruction constitutions of the former Confederacy, the black members of the state legislatures ensured that there were also HBCUs formed at the time (whites who served the confederacy were not eligible to be elected officials during reconstruction and thus most southern legislatures were comprised primarily of carpet bagger yankees, foreigners and blacks). Not saying that is bad, just stating facts.
