I cover the safety position for our team and I feel like my FS is too lopsided, while my SS is too balanced. I'm gonna be boosting both 3 levels and my SS will have another level up coming quickly. The FS was my first build, so I really haven't had any idea what I've been doing at all.

FS
Strength: 24.65
Speed: 66.39
Tackling: 27.06
Agility: 33.09
Jumping: 18.16
Catching: 27.21
Stamina: 32.68
Vision: 36.6
Confidence: 19.75

All coverage abilities are at 2, plus an extra from my custom equipment.

All hard hitter abilities are at 2, except for closing speed.

So, with my 15 points from boosting coming, what do I need to hit most to "fix" him? I was considering 6 to vision and 9 to agility.

Currently, all of his equipment is boosting speed.

SS
Strength: 29.6
Speed: 38.6
Tackling: 32.6
Agility: 32.36
Jumping: 13.55
Catching: 13.37
Stamina: 34.46
Vision: 37.6
Confidence: 19.86

I have nothing in the coverage abilities.

Hard hitting as 2 in wrap up tackling plus 1 across the board from my custom equipment.

This guy has equipment contributing +4 agility, +2 tackling, +8 vision.

He'll have 4 points coming for equipment, and 20 points coming from boosting and a level up.

I'm considering pumping the points for agility and tackling so that I can move his equipment to vision and go for a soft cap there... +10 agility, +10 vision (+4 equipment)?

FS
I agree with +6 vision and +9 agility. You have a nice ratio INT/PD...you might improve that even more with some training for jumping?

Interessted in discussing your FS in here? http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=581878

SS
Very comfortable position...distributing 24 SP - wow. You might want to take this buddy as a reference: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=145587&playoffs=0
But same about jumping here too.

lol 167 tackles!

for your SS get speed up to the mid 40s, agility pretty close behind, tackling and strength up a few more points, and beyond that it's whether you are obsessed with jumping/catching or confidence

I don't know if anyone is interested, but this is where my two safeties have gotten to...

FS - 24
Strength: 25.2
Speed: 67.69
Tackling: 30.36
Agility: 35.64
Jumping: 22.56
Catching: 28.51
Stamina: 39.98
Vision: 43.9
Confidence: 20.3

All coverage abilities are at 2, plus an extra point each from my custom equipment.
All hard hitter abilities are at 2.

Currently, all of his equipment is boosting speed. Although, my team can't afford his level 24 equipment, so that's another 4 points that'll come along slowly (from me saving salary and training on relaxed).

I think my biggest regret is that I put too many points into catching early on. I wish I could move 5 or 6 points from catching to other more useful categories. My next goal is to get agility and vision soft capped as soon as possible.

I'm currently alternating training between confidence and jumping... but I've wondered if training blocking up to 20 or so would help when he rushes in to get the runner and is either picked off by a WR (on outside runs) or by a FB or TE on inside runs.

SS - 20
Strength: 31.6
Speed: 45.6
Tackling: 32.6
Agility: 49.2
Jumping: 18.94
Catching: 14.21
Stamina: 36.46
Vision: 49.6
Confidence: 20.7

I have nothing in the coverage abilities.
Hard hitting has 2 in wrap up tackling plus 1 across the board from my custom equipment.

This guy has equipment contributing +9 agility and +9 vision.

My goal is to get agility, vision, and speed soft capped... but that probably won't happen until I can boost next season. It'd take 19 more points to do and I don't think at level 20 that he'll get 4 more upgrades this season.

Building a SS is really frustrating, because while all safeties need speed, vision, and agility, my SS also needs very good tackling and decent strength, due to our DL and LB weaknesses. He also needs stamina to stay on the field because our backup SS is worthless (and consequently our backup FS is 2nd on the depth chart and he's coverage all the way), jumping, confidence... the list goes on and on. I'm training his confidence and jumping right now.

Your FS and SS are looking good. But dont spend SP or training for blocking. If you want to shed blocks train strength. What you really do want for your FS is get vision and agility to the softcap ASAP. And I wouldnt regret having catching at 28.

yeah dachpappe is right, don't train blocking to shed blocks, train strength!

Okay, I was just curious.

I think the thing I regret about the 28 in catching is that I put skill points there instead of putting them into agility / vision and then training catching up. Oh well, it's my first player, we all make mistakes.

Would I be better off moving one or two items of equipment from speed to vision?
