What is the best measure of success: Tackles? Passes Defended? Forced Fumbles? Ints? Shutting down the opposing TE?

I measure my success by:
1. How many TD's did I stop/give up?
2. How many first downs did I stop/give up?
3. Did I create any turnovers?
4. How many plays did I read and shut down?

Thats a great list; I do very much the same. Stats are looked at too much in GLB, but they truly do not tell the whole story.

This play = a success haha. Cup cake team or not, I think it's one of my fav plays I pulled off this season.

There's some closing speed for ya. I only got closing speed at 3, but I think I may have to put some more points into it now that I have speed to the soft cap.

I just like watching my replays where I demolish the RB trying to escape from the backfield.

Got to agree listed stats are overated for everyone, and also very hard to summarise for a safety. That is a good list by Riggs.
Personnally I love those plays for my SS where the ball stops on the receiver (ie they're gathering the ball in) and then he hammers into them and the play is listed as PD.. can't help but imagine Taylor or Landry type hits for those moments

riggs how many points you puttin into closing speed - i just recently put in some points and it has made a pretty drastic change so i thinking about dumping a good amount of points there

I've been thinkin about doing it to. Right now I have 2 in that and 2 in big hit then the +1 to all from the abilities.
Not sure when I'll add more to it, right now I can pretty much catch anyone in my league aside from a few WR's that have a head start. More worried about my strength/tackling now, agility is just about at the cap too.

Good list Riggs

This is one of my personal favourites. It hasn't happened very often, if at all, but its my SS doing his job properly

Thats a measure of team success; your team can still win if your SS sucks or lose if your SS is good. This thread is to make people aware that there is more to the SS spot than stats.
