I was wondering

I'm not going to be voting for my own players (We are more about depth than first teamers) but the only thing you achieve by not allowing voting for your own team is to penalise those on teams who do vote.

It different if I thought we would get 8+ ballots, per league.

But last season we struggled for 5 or 6 and I spent a week badgering to get the rest in.

What has been suggested is this...

3 x HB
3 x FB
5 x WR
3 x TE
5 x OT
5 x OG
3 x C

Just on Offense thats 30 players!!! How many do you need to watch game tape on to come up with that list of 30?

The chances are that most teams wont fill in more than the first choices, and if they do it will be based on the tracked stats anyway.

Ok, then maybe cut it down to 2 and 4 players to make it easier on people? I know last season I would have liked to be able to nominate several Cs for instance, but well, two weighted votes is still better than 1.

As this has died down again and tomorrow will be the last regular season game in the league maybe we should nail down the specifics.

From what I can tell the general consensus is as follows:
- Anyone on a team can submit a ballot, but ballots from GMs only count if Owner did not submit one, player ballots only count if no GM or Owner submitted one, only first GM or player ballot counts
- Votes will be weighted with 5-3-1 (or 9-7-5-3-1) points respectively
- In case of a tie the number of 1st place votes is the tiebreaker
- Alpha teams vote for Alpha team only, Zeta teams vote for Zeta team only

Ballot looks as follows, please note that positions are weighted, so be sure to mention your top choice first:

As there has been no real consensus as to nominating players from your own team I propose the following, based on points that have been mentioned above.
- Each team can nominate up to 5 of their own players, regardless of position
- These nominations do only count if the team submits at least two other players at that position
- These nominations will be weighted with 2 (3 player position) or 4 (5 player position) points. A second nomination at the same position gets half that.
- In case of a tie points from your own team are discounted for the tie breaker

I'll be happy to count the ballots for Alpha, Mike, do you want to act as a control instance? Any volunteers for Zeta?

Deadline for ballot submission I suggest the end of the conference finals, so the final AllStar teams can be revealed in time for the league finals?

Is this something everyone could live with? We should come up with a consensus rather soon I'd say.

I am sure some will want a few bits changed but its a case of too late now.
