Only if you're silly enough to put a mediocre CB against a slot receiver.

no it doesn't matter. Ive tested on my team many times. I can take my CB (who's normally the #1) and put him in the slot and I'll have tons of tackles/pd's/ints. I've done it with the other two main CB's I have and it holds true. I charted a few games out by just where the QB threw. They threw at the #1 and #2 CB's equally, say like 9 times each but 19 times to the 3rd CB. That's with any of us in the spot.

I call BS. Even your own team leads page shows that this isn't quantitatively true. Your slot receiver has only 10 more touches than your 1st and 2nd strings.
Slot receiver is potent for 2 reasons. 1) because most teams focus their talent against the top two receivers, leaving the slot receiver with a bit easier coverage. 2) Because 3 wide outs is not uncommon. If you saw 4 wide outs more often and teams put heavy talent in the 4th slot, guess what? 4th receiver would see a lot of action.

when you refer to my team, you're talkign about the ho playbook right? not the aggies? I play for the aggies but I own another team...that's the one that my CB is on and the one I'm referring to. We move the WR's around just like we move the CB's around. We keep our #1 WR where he's at because he's a speed guy and can blow by most CB's in the league.
again here are the stats for just one of the games I broke down (I happen to have the paper in front of me)
1st CB: 9 passes thrown his way
2nd CB: 9 passes thrown his way
3rd CB: 19 passes thrown his way
Over the middle: 17 passes
I've had games where I put my CB in the #1 spot and I completely shut an area down. No tackles/PD's etc. I then move him to the #3 spot and get 14 tackles and 3 ints.

ah
there's the confusion
I wouldn't experiment on the lineup of the aggies, we're lean and mean as it is.

There are loads of different variables involved
Team tactics, QB focus, Defensive schemes and personnel etc.
If WR1 gets open frequently then the liklihood is he gets most passes, only if your targetting the Slot WR will he get most passes.
But if neither WR1 or 2 get open easily, then the slot is the check down IF the QB has time to go through progressions.
Teams with lots of pressure on their QB have less passes to the slot and more to the Backs on check downs.
also Sub settings have a massive effect as well.
Monarchs have a different WR lining up at WR!, 2 and 3 on almost every play, so targetting them is pointless.
I am involved in 5 teams who are experiemental, and a few that are semi experimental, (The Marvins with Zickzack for example) so we have tested this to death
