Are STOPs a must have for PRO?
How many?
What Position?

I have seen a couple different positions being used, mainly Guards or SS. My gut tells me HH SS is the route to go.

Thoughts?

You want as many as you can take without handicapping what you're trying to do with the rest of the team.

The advantage is Stops can "waste" 30+ VAs on getting awesome at STs, while at the same time, keeping other dots off the field to avoid huge energy loss and also morale dings on kickoffs and punts.

I like HH or Combo SS for this job. Normally 1 or 2 depending on the other personnel needed.

https://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=11059

This team is using 7 STOPS + the usual K P R (FB, Cs, DEs)

Has had no obvious negative effects. 10/10 would recommend.

The blockers can be fine tuned to be exactly as fast as they need to be. Being not overly fast or slow is important. Blocks should land when the reurner is nearby.

Also, size matters (i.e weight) for FFs. 240 minimum weight with green 1st Step for prDEs.

No obvious negative effects? There seems to be at least one.

i usually prefer 2 super fast coverage stops, and 1 or 2 speed blockers. 2 coverage dots will get the vast majority of the tackles. and normal offensive blockers are too slow for my type of returns.

This, shouldn't really need to be spelled out why either.

Technically yes, it should be spelled out, because it's reading like the Stop selection is to blame for the team record.

I assure you that's not the reason.

This was a Casual team experiment to see if dots could be built differently to make use of different AI options in Casual.

The answer is no.

There is no reason to use anything other than the new Inside run heavy by RC26.

The best Casual team will be the one to optimize that Ai. Once everyone figures that out Casual will be a RNG contest like watching the old vibrating table football thing from the 60s.

Once we exhausted every option we could think of, we decided to see if it was a dot issue

It's not a dot issue. That Ai is just the best option. Even with "sub optimal" builds for that Ai. We still beat the best Pro had to offer using it.

The team is done. Until new Ai become available, especially a defense to shut down that IRH, there's really no point in playing Casual. It's not even Rock Paper Scissors at this point.

I didn't even know you were talking Casual as I have never played it TBH and I know I never will. If it wasn't for Coordinating, even though it can be time consuming, I would not bother with GLB at all. To each their own I guess.
