I have my Individual Player Tactics for my DE set to -1 for the Man Coverage Cushion and the Coverage Style set to loose... He's a pass rusher and aggression is set to 100.and play type focus is set to to pass .. but when he should be rushing the QB, my DE is going into pass coverage...... anybody know why this is?

OP, can you post a (public game) replay that you're talking about? the DEs can be set to cover the flats in zone coverage, I think that's the only option for DEs (it's been a while), but if the play calls for the DE to do that, what their tactics settings are as far as aggressiveness or whatever don't come into play, they follow instructions.

3 replays, 2 different LDEs, I've noticed this before as well. I don't understand why it happens.

They're being dropped into the flats by the CPU defensive playcall as slughead mentioned. Nothing in your settings will prevent that.

From the OP's page.
"Hi Guys,
Apologies in advance. If you send my dots an invite to join your team, i won't accept. That is no reflection on you, as a person or a reflection on your team. For the moment all my dots will only be on CPU teams. There are many reasons. "
You can play the game however you want, but the issue that the OP asking about is what you get when you only play in the DLeagues.
Yes, you can get some great stats, but it's like your pro players are playing high schoolers.

Ok, so to provide a less d^ck-ish response in the event you are a younger and/or less experienced agent in this game and are sincerely asking for help, your player's Tactics settings impact how that player acts when the play call/progression puts them in a specific situation. The team Coordinators call the plays, players follow the play calls. Teams do not have 55 players who each call their own plays on the field each down. That would be funny to watch though. So, you don't get to have a player on a team and decide "My player blitzes every down!", unless you also buy the team and coordinate the defense yourself, or discuss with and get buy-in from the team you're signing with, before you sign with them. When you sign with a CPU team, you have no control of, knowledge of, or input whatsoever into playcalling or strategy. I hope this helps. Regardless, it has satisfied my resolution of saying something in a non a-hole/sarcastic manner at minimum once per day. Though there is a chance some of this may still qualify as sarcastic. Some habits die hard. Good luck to you.

Well done.
edit: here's a look at one defense play call, to show some of the things dots can do. In this case, a Dime formation becomes a 3-man rush with the RDE dropping back into zone.
